Really enjoyed staying here. The hotel is quite old but still nice and well maintained. We booked the executive suite which was a nice size. Swimming pool is nice. Location is great for getting around Bangkok. Only downside is the huge building site next door that surrounds the hotel on 3 sides. The Hotel did move my room due to loud building work through the day. Also the TV is really old with next to no channels and no usb or HDMI point. Will stay again.

The hotel is in a great location. But the hotel needs some major improvements, especially for the price. We checked into a room where the AC wasn't working well, the room was very outdated with a dirty sofa and walls, and the bed wasn't comfortable. So we ended up upgrading to the "Deluxe" suite for 400 baht, which was 100 baht more than what is advertised for "walk-in" pricing. The front desk attendants claimed since I got it on Agoda I had to pay 400 baht instead of their advertised upgrade rate of 300 baht. I asked if the beds were better for the Deluxe upgrades and they said yes. However, the beds are the same in all the rooms, which aren't very comfy. I also paid extra for the hot plate, but there were no cooking utensils or pots whatsoever. The room is old with scratches on the walls and very uncomfortable couch that was dirty. Some lights don't work including on the vanity area which would have been really nice to have for this upgraded room. The AC doesn't work well, and we were hot and sticky. At this point I feel like I'm a bother by the way the attendants act so I don't want ask to switch rooms. The pool and steam room areas are old, moldy, and rusty. They claim they have had renovations but I can tell you they have not. The location is great if you want to be near the city centre and Sukhumvit area but this hotel is not worth the 2100 baht per night. The buffet wasn't too bad. They had lots of options but it ends at 10am. I'm not one to complain but I had to let others know what they are truly in for. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I have stayed at Hopeland multiple times. I will return. This hotel may not be a spring chicken but it is comfortable and has most amenities one needs. It is a good design; it has been renovated in the past and provides a great base for your stay. The rooms are bigger than modern hotels and provide comfort. The sofa is a big plus. Located down Soi 8 a minimart is a short walk. Further down Soi 8 you can cross to Soi 10 and into the park. Many restaurants are at the Sukhumvit end and along Soi 8. I have not had breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment. The Tuk tuk provides a free service to Sukhumvit. An area at top has a pool and space to relax with a gym. For me it is relaxing with a good vibes, a pleasing place to stay.

Havent been here for quite some time and it was good to be back. was nearly going to give it four stars but they need a little kick in the butt three for now. Pros: Gym is not much but enough to get a work out and the whole nearly 3 weeks not once was I there with anyone else so I could use it freely. Pool was lovely at 6am and again, no one in site. Afternoon the water was too warm to enjoy but that is not the fault of the hotel. I thought the cleaning staff were on there game and the two gentlemen who manned the doors were nice. The hotel overall was kept clean IMO. The tuk tuk to the station is always a great service. Aircon was good. Great size fridge and nice kitchen. Bath was really good too. Cons: couldnt get a smile out of the front desk staff and others have complained they were pretty cold. Second day in I asked for a desk lamp as even though it is a king size bed there is only one bedside table and no bedside lights at all. You have to get up go to the adjacent wall to switch off the over head main lights and make your way back in the dark. I thought it was just a simple oversight. When I asked the fron desk if I could possible get a lamp coldly I was told "No!" I asked why and was told we dont use them. I didnt bother to go any further with the conversation. The bed was like a rock and asked if I could get another room or mattress but was told they are the same in every room. I asked them to put a quilt under the sheet just for some relief which they did and it helped enough to make it bareable. I will stay there again as long as I can score a good price deal on line. I know what to expect and still enjoyed my stay.

I am extremely disappointed with Hope Land Hotel Sukhumvit 8. I have stayed at this hotel before, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Because of my previous stay, I expected at least some level of understanding and flexibility. I made a booking through Agoda and accidentally selected the wrong dates. I contacted both Agoda and the hotel immediately to request a simple date change. I clearly explained that I was not asking for a refund and was even willing to pay additional charges if required. Despite being a returning guest, the hotel refused to assist in any way. There was no flexibility, no goodwill, and no effort to find a reasonable solution. Mistakes can happen when booking online. A hotel that values returning customers would at least try to help, especially when the request is made well in advance and no refund is being requested. Very disappointing customer service experience.

Great location in a quiet end of a side street, but still close to transportation and night life. Very spacious room.Letdown was the quality of the wifi, that often dropped connection. Other point of improvement is the equipment of the kitchenette. What is the use of dual hot plate when there are no pots or pans to put food in?

This hotel is awful. Even if you book a non-smoking room, you can still smell cigarettes everywhere. There’s also an old, musty odor throughout the entire property, not just in the rooms. The bathroom is full of mold. The luggage storage is basically just around the reception area, with no secure room. The only positive thing I can say about this place is its location. Nothing else.

It’s a great location. The hotel hits all basic needs. For the price, it’s got everything you need. Only negative point is the construction directly next door. No fault of the hotel, just be aware if you plan to sleep past 7am. It gets very loud.
