We stayed one night at Solar Antigo. The room was clean, which I really appreciated, and the location is excellent for exploring Coimbra. However, the accommodation is starting to show its age. Several items in the room are clearly worn out and should be replaced, especially the bathroom sink faucet, the shower, and the table with the stools. The toilet is also extremely cramped, and the folding door hits the sink and doesn't close properly, which makes it uncomfortable to use. Breakfast is served in the room. While some guests may enjoy this, I personally didn't. You also cannot choose what is served, so the experience felt rather limited. Overall, the hotel has potential thanks to its cleanliness and location, but it would benefit from some renovation and a more flexible breakfast experience.

If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable spot with a comfortable mattress and AC near the airport, this is it! And, the employees are nice enough too. It’s also close to the metro is you need to run into Porto for one last great meal. |The breakfast was Ok. The decor is over the top! I’d call it a 10 year olds, Barbie Doll dream room. Tasteless IMHO but that just me! I’d have preferred IKEA style.|Did I mention the place is spotless and the bed comfy? 99.9% recommend you book it!

I absolutely loved staying at Solar Antigo! It was one of the most unique places I have ever stayed at. The hotel is lovely. The pictures do not do it justice. It’s hard to capture how quaint it is. The staff was extremely welcoming They even serve breakfast in your room! I would go back just to stay at this place again. I can’t imagine any other place I would have rather stayed at in Coimbra. LOVED IT !!!!

We booked this hotel as we were intrigued by the photos and weren’t disappointed! Lots of gold and glitter and extravagant furnishings and decoration! Lovely service at reception and an upgrade to a room with jacuzzi. Welcome drink with cake upon arrival and breakfast brought to our room crammed into a large basket. The location is perfect for exploring Coimbra - only 5 minutes from the university and 10 minutes from the botanical gardens (free parking here on street). We enjoyed our stay here.

Very unique room but also very limited space. Shower and bathroom were basically open to the bedroom. The breakfast service was excellent. Staff were very nice. Location was good for accessing old city but was on a skinny steep road. Best to take an Unber or taxi to get there. It was good for a couple of nights but would not spend a week in that room. Other rooms may have better lay-out. Our room was right beside the check-in desk (room 203) and would not recommend it as it can be noisy, especially when trying to get to sleep or enjoy some quiet time. Nice place but has its limitations. Just be careful when booking to check the room you're getting.

Solar Antigo was great. The rooms were luxuriously decorated with real style, they were clean and had everything you needed. The staff were friendly and helpful and served us the most incredible breakfast in our bedroom. The position is also perfect in the centre of the old part of Coimbra.

One of the most beautiful places I have slept in! One room is more beautiful as the other jacuzzi is clean. Only they should definitely change the matrasses for such a luxery place the matrass is very bad. And a tip bring your own bottle of bubbles you pay like 35eu and get a bottle of cheap bubble from like 2 eu
