Gravelbourg & District Museum
On Gravelbourg's Main Street, the Gravelbourg & District Museum keeps the memory of one of Saskatchewan's most distinctive small towns: a French-speaking prairie community built around a cathedral, a college and generations of pioneers. Over roughly 3,000 square feet of exhibit space, it traces the town's story through the people who made it—the missionary Father Pierre Gravel, the painter-clergyman Monsignor Charles Maillard, and the pioneering physician Dr. Antoine Soucy—alongside military, religious and First Nations collections. What makes a stop here worthwhile is how tightly the museum connects to the town around it. Gravelbourg is famed for the Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral and its buildings clad in original golden Claybank brick, and the museum is the natural place to understand that heritage before walking out into it. Bilingual tours extend to the former convent chapel, and guided visits can be arranged in both French and English.
