Alblama Wanderung is not a waymarked footpath but a guided animal-trekking experience: a chance to walk the edge of the Swabian Alb outside Reutlingen with a llama as your companion. Run from Weinbergweg on the city's south-western fringe, the operator leads small-group treks with llamas in every season, pitched at families, children and adults who simply enjoy time outdoors. What makes it different is the gentle, slightly ridiculous charm of strolling alongside these sure-footed Andean animals through Alb orchards, meadow and woodland, with the broad landscape of the Swabian Alb biosphere reserve opening up around you. It is unhurried nature contact rather than a summit push, and the tours are also designed to include people with disabilities.
