Draa Larhsane
Draa Larhsane is a long, low ridge rising to 590 metres in the rural highlands of M'Sila Province, eastern Algeria. It does not have a museum or a gift shop, and that is precisely its appeal. This is a place for travellers who want to understand the scale and silence of the Algerian steppe, where the land rolls gently toward the Hodna basin and small settlements dot the valleys between hills. The ridge sits within the commune of Ouled Addi Guebala, a farming community of roughly 22,000 people in a landscape shaped by pastoral life. To the east, the town of Berhoum is known across Algeria for its livestock markets and scrap trade, adding a layer of working-country character to the surrounding area. A drive or hike through this region gives you a sense of how communities and terrain fit together in the high plateau.
