Zagreb Fountains
The Zagreb Fountains are a modern spectacle of water, light and sound set in University Park on Hrvatske bratske zajednice street, right at the southern gateway to the city centre. Hundreds of jets leap from the ground in choreographed patterns—some shooting up to ten metres—turning a paved plaza into a cool, playful stage that locals and visitors gather around at any hour of the day. Tucked between the striking glass-and-stone National and University Library and the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, the fountains are free to visit and open around the clock. They are at their most charming after dark, when coloured lighting and a weekend light-and-music show give the whole square a theatrical glow—yet by day the splash and murmur of moving water make it a favourite spot to cool off and linger.
