Curug sawer
Curug Sawer is a 35-meter waterfall plunging into a natural pool surrounded by dense tropical forest in Sukabumi's Taman Nasional Gunung Gede Pangrango. The name carries a ritual past — it references a traditional saweran ceremony where offerings were tossed to the water — but today it draws visitors for its powerful cascade, misty spray, and the thrill of crossing the famous Situ Gunung Suspension Bridge on the way in. The combination of an easy jungle trek, a gravity-defying bridge walk, and a cool mountain swimming hole makes this one of West Java's most satisfying day-trip packages. Reaching the falls is part of the fun. Choose the shorter Red Route via the suspension bridge (about 1.5 km, roughly 15 minutes of trail walking after the bridge) or the longer Green Route (3.5 km through shaded forest without the bridge). Either way, you arrive to the sound of rushing water echoing off mossy cliffs, with fine spray cooling your skin before you even see the full cascade.
