Orkla
The Orkla is Trøndelag county's longest river and one of Norway's premier salmon waterways. At the Rennebu stretch near the village of Voll, the river flows through open farmland and wooded banks, offering anglers and nature lovers a landscape of quiet rolling river valley with the dramatic backdrop of the Trollheimen mountains close by. With an 88-kilometre salmon-fishing stretch running through Rennebu and neighbouring Orkland municipalities, the Orkla is the fourth largest salmon river in Norway by volume. The season runs from June through August, with 39 distinct fishing beats, a record salmon catch of 25 kg, and fish averaging around 20 kg passing annually.
