Yobo Experience - Interactive Science Museum Brasov

Brașov's Yobo Experience is the kind of museum where the signs say "please touch." Housed in a sprawling industrial warehouse on Boulevardul Zizinului, it is Romania's largest interactive science museum and Transylvania's first of its kind. Forget glass cases and velvet ropes: here you grip the world's most powerful magnets, watch iron filings dance under electromagnets, see your own heartbeat on a real ultrasound, and find out exactly how much you weigh on Mars (spoiler: visitors overwhelmingly prefer the answer on Mercury). The guiding principle is simple: science is best understood when you feel it in your hands. The museum started from a dream by Ioana, a young science educator who wanted Transylvania to have a place where curiosity outpaces theory. Today it welcomes everyone from two-month-old infants to 86-year-old grandfathers, guided by passionate staff who tailor every explanation to the age group in front of them. Whether you are a family needing a rainy-afternoon adventure, a couple looking for something different in Brașov, or a school group burning through a field trip quota, Yobo Experience rewards the visit with genuine delight and a few "huh, I didn't know that" moments. After the guided tour, you are free to roam. One visitor reportedly spent two and a half hours at a single exhibit, wrestling with the museum's mechanical Gordian Knot puzzle in hopes of unlocking a hidden message inside. That spirit of persistent curiosity is exactly what makes the place work.
