Chorvátske rameno
Chorvátske rameno — the "Croatian Arm" — is a 5-kilometre waterway threading the heart of Petržalka, Bratislava's vast concrete housing estate. A former meandering arm of the Danube turned regulated drainage channel, today it runs as a green and reedy spine between the panelák blocks, lined with paths and alive with herons, swans and beaver. Locals call it simply Kanál. The whole length is followed by an asphalt cycle and walking route that joins the Danube cycle path, with anglers on the banks, swimmers nearby at Lake Veľký Draždiak, and four new footbridges under construction to knit the two shores together. It is an easy, free, year-round outdoor stop that shows a quietly natural side of a district usually remembered for its blocks.
