My friend and I came in for breakfast and were welcomed at the door by Ornella. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Ornella - she was so attentive and kind, joyful, and clearly so very proud of this hotel, and she treated us like we were VIPS who were staying at the hotel, certainly not like we were only there for a meal. She noticed how much we loved the decor and architure and kindly offered to show us around, which we were extremely touched by. She memorized our names immediately and treated us with such care that we didn’t want to leave. This hotel is exceptional. Ornella is exceptional, and a huge asset to this hotel. The food was amazing, the coffee was perfect. All the staff we came across here were so friendly and attentive… but not at all intrusive. We left breakfast feeling rejuvenated, calm, and completely charmed by the experience. 10 stars would be more appropriate. Thank you, Ornella, we will be back as soon as humanly possible! 😊

My overall experience at the hotel was exceptional and I was impressed by the level of service. Unfortunately, the positive impression was significantly diminished at checkout.|When I was presented with the itemized invoice for my approval, I was surprised to see a €200 staff gratuity added as the final line item. I found this particularly unexpected given the traditional approach to tipping in Italy, where gratuity is not expected in the same way it is in some other countries.|What made the experience especially uncomfortable was that the suggested gratuity was presented at checkout, putting me in an awkward position and creating an implicit expectation to approve a substantial additional charge. I found myself feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable in a way that seemed completely out of character for an outstanding hotel.|Guests should be free to decide whether and how much to tip without feeling pressured, particularly at a luxury property where the quality of service should already be reflected in the room rate and other charges.|It is unfortunate that what had been an exceptional stay ended on such a disappointing note. I hope the hotel will reconsider this practice because it risks overshadowing an otherwise excellent guest experience.

Excellent hotel in a great location with welcoming & friendly staff. The breakfast selection was excellent. Our room was spotlessly clean and adequate for the one night. However, we were surprised by how small the room was considering the overnight cost. We fortunately only had small cases each but still had nowhere to open or store them except on the bed. They had to stand just inside the door when not in use. No idea how anyone with large cases would cope. (We had spent the previous night in your sister hotel in Siena where our room was very large in comparison) We would recommend the Starhotels Collezione hotels in Florence & Siena.

There are cockroaches in the room, the bathroom exhaust fan doesn’t work at all, and we informed the staff on the first day, but they still ignored it. Breakfast is always just two types of vegetables, monotonous, and with a very low cost-to-value ratio compared to the price. The toilet paper often doesn’t flush properly. It’s a hollow hotel that’s all show, pretending to be luxurious.

Everything was absolutely excellent. The room was very beautiful, spotless and extremely comfortable, with many thoughtful amenities that made our stay even more enjoyable. The location is perfect, right in the centre of the city, which made it very easy to explore everything on foot. We had breakfast twice during our stay and it was excellent on both occasions. The scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked, creamy and full of flavour. There was a wide variety of options to choose from, and the fresh fruits were of very good quality. Everything was beautifully presented and constantly replenished. It was a great way to start the day. The spa was also a wonderful addition to our stay, offering a true hour of relaxation that we really appreciated after a day of exploring the city. The staff were very attentive, professional and always welcoming, with a genuine smile. Their kindness and attention to detail truly made a difference. Overall, everything was very well organised and we had a fantastic experience. We would definitely return.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Helvetia & Bristol in Florence, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The service was absolutely exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make my husband’s birthday feel incredibly special, with thoughtful touches and genuine warmth that made us feel truly cared for. It’s rare to experience hospitality at this level, and it made our stay unforgettable. Our room was beautiful, spotless, and very comfortable. We also loved the little details, especially the delicious chocolate treats that added such a thoughtful, luxurious touch. Breakfast was outstanding: fresh, delicious, and one of the highlights of our mornings. The quality and variety made it something we genuinely looked forward to each day. The location is perfect and is central/ ideal for walking to Florence’s main sights. From the service to the food, the room, and the atmosphere, this hotel delivers excellence across the board. We have booked another stay and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special experience in Florence.

We loved our experience at the Helvetia and Bristol. The service was top notch, everyone offered a 5 star hotel experience. The bellmen who rescued us from across the street after seeing our difficulty handling our luggage, the front desk who are genuinely happy to help, the serving staff who offered great suggestions and were always available, and the cleaning staff who brought us chocolates every night! A special thanks to Alissandro, the concierge. He made our trip to Florence a very memorable one, by planning our dinners and outings. We came in with no plans and he gave us a trip full of memories. Thank you Helvetia and Bristol! I guess I should also mention: The hotel is pretty close to the train station, the sidewalks are bumpy if you have rolling luggage!It's also close to all the major landmarks in the heart of Florence. We had the junior suite, A very beautiful room. Breakfast was delicious, the pistachio chocolate loaf is amazing! The hotel is beautifully decorated, very much a boutique hotel.

FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE all around!! We had a wonderful stay at the Helvetia & Bristol in Florence. The hotel is absolutely stunning and beautifully decorated — the lobby is gorgeous and the dining room is especially charming. It has one of the most beautiful breakfast rooms I’ve ever had the pleasure of sitting in, which made each morning feel special. The highlight was our luxurious bedroom, which felt spacious, elegant, and perfect for a romantic weekend. Every detail was thoughtfully done, and the turndown service was flawless — returning to chocolates after a long day exploring Florence was such a lovely touch. Service was consistently warm and kind, from the doormen to reception to the breakfast staff. The location is also excellent and made it very easy to walk everywhere. The only downside was that our room was a bit noisy at night, though earplugs helped. Overall, a beautiful, well-run hotel that I would absolutely recommend.
