You can't fault the location of this hotel and from the outside it looks decent. But inside it's a different story with tired / out dated decor and renovation needed in a few areas. We booked a 'panoramic suite' for three nights which was meant to be a highlight of our holiday but it was disappointing and had no air conditioning so was unbearably hot. It definitely wasn't worth nearly 2000 euros for 3 nights even in peak season. Staff were mostly friendly and helpful though. I rarely take time to leave a review but over a month later I still feel ripped off by this hotel.

This hotel has excellent service and staff. Delicious food. Beautiful pool and spa. Gorgeous lake view. We really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend it to anyone from the US or elsewhere. Such a fun place!

Lovely hotel. Very conveniently located to visit the castles early in the morning. We stayed for only one night. They upgraded us to a suite room. It was super spacious with stunning view of the lake and mountain backdrop. No AC but they provided a fan. No phone line to front desk for any service requests. They were very attentive to any requests we made directly. They have some parking space available in front of the hotel. Overall we had a great stay.

The availability of amenities -- opening the sauana and pool one hour before checkout when they close at 9 (depsite restaurants being open past that nearby) -- was quite disappointing. As this was our primary reason for choosing this location. Please note that you should make dinner reservations ahead of time as well. That said, the staff, location, and breakfast were wonderful. I would caution anyone with a tight schedule to plan ahead if booking here but otherwise would come back.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Am Hopfensee! From the customer service at the front desk, to the spa and massages, to the dinner and drinks at the bar - everything was wonderful! All of the staff were so kind and helpful to us Americans! The spa area was incredible with unbeatable views in the infinity pool and sauna! We did a 4 course dinner that was phenomenal. Each dish was very delicious. We hung out in the cozy bar area, with the fire place going and had great conversation with the bar tender and the hotel manager - who was just awesome and so kind! The hotel is in a great location for views and close to the Nuescbhwanstein Castle. Would absolutely recommend staying here for your next relaxing holiday.

We booked a last minute room at Hotel am Hopfensee and were not disappointed. The room was good sized, clean and offered a comfortable double bed. Bathroom was clean and well stocked. We wish we had more time to enjoy the spa but the nearby castles awaited us. The lake was absolutely gorgeous both at sunset and in the morning. The breakfast buffet was included with our room and was well-stocked and delicious. A solid lodging experience.

we had a beautiful stay, we had a standard double room and maybe here n there is place for improvement nothing really to complain about. The spa is all right but altho we have been to several saunas the 90 - 100 ° felt alot hotter. Beautiful view over the sea and the mountains. Same from the infinity pool. The inside options to relax are hard to catch and we didn't check the Haman. Regarding food , we had a 5 and 4 course meal. The picture tells the story I would day and we both been enjoying alot. Breakfast is on the good side. Service was really nice as well with good drinks at the bar. They also brought up a nice gin recommendation.
