We stayed at this hotel for our Euro family vacation in August 2026. It's in a great location, with an Albert Heijn supermarket at the back and a Tesla supercharger at the front. They have basement parking, which was nice. Hotel quality is excellent throughout. Staff was friendly. They respond to emails quickly if you have any questions. Rooms are big as well as the corridors. So much space. Cottes restaurant has amazing food. Reasonably priced as well. I had a pork ribs starter that came to my table a bit cold. It was sorted and was delicious. Breakfast was also great with lots to choose from. Only problem I had with my room was the air conditioner & bathroom exhaust stopped working mid stay which was a shame. They offered to change to a new room the night before were going to leave so we declined as it was too much of a hassle to move. Overall I was happy with this hotel & would stay again in the future.

Excellent hotel with large comfortable rooms. Nicely controllable Aircon in the high 30°C heat wave when we stopped. It's convenient for motorway stops but quite a way out of Ghent centre. Great views over Ghent from Mr Sato's restaurant and bar which served excellent Japanese cuisine. Easy carparking but a bit surprised that this was €10 extra, this is not a city centre hotel. Room was good value, but breakfast is fairly expensive at €28 each for a nice but standard hotel buffet . Most we stayed at in Europe were under €20 for similar.

Fantastic large room with nice view. The bed is too soft for my liking, since they have the (movable) mattress on top of the another big mattress, it felt a bit unstable. Staff is friendly and efficient. Excellent breakfast. Parking is available for 10€ but very limited parking space underground. You might as well park at KAA stadium. The gym is also with the view, and well-equipped. Overall a pleasant stay.

I have visited many Tesla Superchargers in Belgium, and unfortunately my experiences at the Van der Valk hotel have been consistently disappointing. On three separate occasions, when I entered the lounge area as a Tesla driver to rest and use the facilities, hotel staff asked if I had a room at the hotel. Each time I explained that I was charging my Tesla and that Supercharger locations are usually partnered with the hotel to allow drivers access to the lounge and restrooms. Despite my explanations and showing them the location on the Tesla app, staff insisted that only hotel guests were allowed and that the Supercharger had nothing to do with the hotel. Regarding the lounge amenities, I took water and fruit on my first visit. After an employee reminded me these were for hotel guests only, I never took any again. However, on a later visit the same employee approached me and accused me of taking them even though I had not. These repeated interactions left me feeling unwelcome and unfairly targeted. Additionally, a hotel employee tracked down my personal Instagram account based on my Google review name and attempted to follow me, which I found rather inappropriate. I understand staff are following hotel policy, but the lack of awareness about the Tesla Supercharger partnership, the way I was addressed, and this incident made the overall experience uncomfortable. Tesla drivers rely on these locations for respectful rest stops. I hope the hotel will better train its team on the Tesla partnership and improve how they interact with drivers in the future. Unfortunately, due to these experiences, I cannot recommend this Supercharger stop.

A great hotel with an excellent breakfast. Very friendly receptionist. Bed was very comfortable and the room was nice and quiet, and very clean. The large tv in the room was great and definitely the best tv we’ve experienced in any of the hotels we have stayed at. However, for a 4 star hotel I would expect better amenities in the comfort rooms. All rooms should get hair conditioner and a small bottle of moisturiser (not just standard body wash and shampoo) - this shouldn’t be exclusively for superior rooms. Towels were quite small and not very soft. Also, this is the only 4 star hotel I’ve ever stayed at where there is a wellness available but robes and slippers are not provided. I’m sorry but you should provide these for all guests not just superior rooms. To charge guests extra for this doesn’t give a luxury vibe. There were no usb or usb c ports by the bed which is a first and quite unhelpful. Make sure you bring a plug in charger. For a modern hotel this seems a mistake not to have installed these. It’s also a shame that you also have to pay for parking as a paying guest. This should be included in the booking cost; not as an extra fee. Location is not ideal but we knew that when booking. I would only book if you’re coming by car.

Excellent hotel for overnight stay whilst travelling. Room was very large - note no door to bathroom! Bed was comfortable and cleanliness was good. Good quality of site restaurant with local menu choices. Would recommend.
