For meals, the hotel's own Restaurant Amo serves seafood and local cuisine on a terrace with sea views, and there are also Cafe Amo, Cocktail Bar Amo, and Smoothie Bar Amo for drinks and light bites. A short walk along the coastal path brings you to Hvar town, where you'll find many cafés and restaurants. The hotel also offers wine tastings and Dalmatian supper nights, so you can stay put for a full evening of dining.
Hotel Podstine sits in a quiet, pine-shaded cove on the water, a short walk from Hvar's old town. The immediate area is calm and green, with the sea right at your doorstep and Bonj Beach just 9 minutes away on foot. Španjola Fortress is a 15-minute walk, offering views over the bay and town. The hotel's own Restaurant Amo, Cafe, Lobby bar, and Snack bar are right there, so you can stay put or wander into town for more options. It's a peaceful base, with the town's sights and waterfront path easily reachable on foot.
Fly into Split Airport, then take a shuttle bus or taxi to Split center to catch a catamaran to Hvar town; the ride takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. From the Hvar catamaran dock, a taxi is the easiest way to reach the hotel, about a 5 minute walk from the dock to the taxi stand. Alternatively, take a ferry from Split to Stari Grad (about 2 hours), then drive about 20 minutes to Hvar town and follow signs to the hotel. If arriving from Dubrovnik, a catamaran takes about 3 hours to Hvar town. The hotel can also arrange a speedboat transfer from the airport dock directly to the hotel beach.
In the evening, you can stay at the hotel and enjoy Restaurant Amo for dinner, then move to the Cocktail Bar Amo or Smoothie Bar Amo for drinks with ocean views. For a change of scene, walk the waterfront path to Hvar town, about 20 minutes away, where you can find bars and cafés. The Španjola Fortress is a 15-minute walk and offers a scenic spot to watch the sunset. You could also join a sunset boat tour to the Pakleni islands, such as the Half Day Sailing trip, which often runs in the late afternoon.
Hotel Podstine is a great base for exploring Hvar town on foot. Bonj Beach is a 9-minute walk away, and Španjola Fortress is 15 minutes away, so you can easily reach the main sights without transport. For farther spots like Plaža Malo Zaraće (7.2 km) or Plaža Dubovica (9.3 km), you will need a car or a taxi, but the hotel's location keeps the town center close. The coastal path into Hvar's old town is a pleasant stroll, and the hotel's own beach and bars make it easy to relax between outings. For day trips, the popular boat tours to the Pakleni islands and Blue Cave depart from Hvar, so you are well placed to join them. It is a convenient spot for combining town exploring with island adventures.
