Let me start by saying that the reason I came across this hotel is because my connecting flight with Turkish Airlines didn’t happen (the inbound flight was late by the entire duration of the 3-hour connection, so the plane left without me), and I had to stay in Istanbul for 24 hours until the next available flight.
Overall, I am grateful to TA for taking care of my accommodation, transportation to and from the airport, and food. Also, the staff at the hotel is very nice and kind: from the security staff, the bar and restaurant staff, and room service to the reception team, which makes a huge difference. Another positive is that the room seemed clean.
Now, over to the negative aspects:
1. There was a loud “white noise” throughout the night from something that sounded like a power plant.
2. The food is really bad — even something as simple as the breakfast pastries wasn’t fresh.
3. Last but not least — the location. It’s in the middle of an industrial area of the city, with no infrastructure such as cafés and restaurants around, so if you miss breakfast, lunch, or dinner, your only option is to get a cab to the mall.
Given the circumstances, I would say it is certainly better than nothing — the bed is comfy, the shower has strong pressure, and the room is spacious. I suppose if you are here for business, it should work, too.
And I want to thank the staff for taking care of me to the best of their abilities.
But would I want to book this hotel for my future stays in Istanbul? A firm no :)
