★★★★★ We had a wonderful stay at Clove Villa in Kandy and felt comfortable and welcome from the very first moment. We received a warm and friendly welcome, and the genuine Sri Lankan hospitality was noticeable throughout our entire stay. Our room was beautiful, very clean, and comfortable, with exceptionally comfortable beds. When we asked for a mosquito net, it was arranged and installed immediately – a small detail that made our stay even more pleasant. The service was consistently attentive, kind, and accommodating. The food was another real highlight. Everything was freshly prepared and homemade, and we especially enjoyed the authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. The restaurant staff were also extremely friendly, attentive, and courteous. The swimming pool was another lovely place to relax and unwind. We felt completely at home at Clove Villa and would have happily stayed even longer. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay in Kandy with a warm atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food!

A Wonderful Boutique Stay in Kandy – We Wish We Had Stayed Longer Clove Villa was one of our favourite accommodations during our entire journey through Sri Lanka, and our only regret is that we stayed for just one night. We were sent there as part of our itinerary organized by @RedDotTours, and it turned out to be one of the best accommodation choices of the trip. We were welcomed by the chef and his colleague, both of whom spoke excellent English and immediately made us feel very well looked after. From the beginning, the atmosphere was warm, personal and completely different from that of a large commercial hotel. The villa itself is beautiful, with comfortable rooms, lovely furniture, good bathrooms and very comfortable beds. We also appreciated the small details in the bathroom, including the individual toiletries — shampoo, creams and other amenities presented in small Clove-branded bottles with a clove fragrance. It was a simple but thoughtful touch that matched the character of the villa perfectly. Dinner was one of the highlights of our stay. Everything was prepared with care, and we particularly remember a delicious aubergine dish. The chef told us that it was based on his grandmother’s recipe and was something special to him. Whatever the exact recipe, it tasted wonderful, and that personal story made us appreciate it even more. The evening atmosphere was also unforgettable. From the terrace we watched huge flying foxes crossing the sky, and later we could see some of them in the trees while enjoying the pool. It was a beautiful and very special Sri Lankan evening. We had to leave very early the following morning, and the team prepared a takeaway breakfast for us. Even this was memorable: the sandwiches were genuinely excellent — not just a basic packed breakfast, but sandwiches that felt as though they had actually been prepared by a chef. It was a small detail, but one we still remember. Clove Villa was one of those places where, instead of being ready to continue our journey, we genuinely wished we could stay another day or two. Beautiful property, excellent food and, above all, very warm and personal hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful, although far too short, stay. We stayed at Clove Villas as part of our tour of Sri Lanka as our Kandy stop. It's nearby to temple of the tooth and the town centre. We only had 1 night hee but we were greeted by Umesh the chef who gave us a tour of the property. Also includes a private pool. Lovely lounge area indoors, plenty of outdoor seating top by the pool or on the balcony. They also have a pool table to pass the time. Umesh made us a Sri Lankan curry including his grandmothers special which we hadn't tried on our trip. It was delicious! Whilst we had dinner on the balcony we also got to watch the infamous fruit bats which was nothing like we've ever seen before. Suranga kindly served us at breakfast and dinner who was also super friendly. The place is well decorated with unique style. The rooms are very spacious as well as the bathrooms. Would definitely recommend for a stop in Kandy.

We had the best night at this boutique hotel. Staff attentive and very happy. The chef was outstanding and cooked us a fantastic rice and curry and even added his grandmother's recipe of aubergine. Rooms are classically chic and spacious. All in all and cracking stay.

Clove Villa is a wonderful hideaway in vibrant Kandy. Although it is close to the city center and lake Kandy area, it provides a serene, charming and luxurious place to stay because it it situated in a calm area uphill. Wonderful staff that cooks great breakfast, lunch ans/or diner. Would definitely come back!

We had a fantastic experience at Clove Villa, thanks to the outstanding hospitality of the team. Suranga was incredibly helpful and always made sure we were well looked after throughout our stay. The meals prepared by Chef Umesh were exceptional—the butter chicken was easily one of the best we've ever tasted, and the curry and rice were both plentiful and full of flavour. The rooms were charming and comfortable, although they could benefit from brighter lighting, particularly in the bathrooms.

My ever and forever best place stay in Sri Lanka and Im in country the 5th time! Its someone house before, I assume Its really private property and you live in it place feels like princess house, even key chain is special non any piece there is from usual store all customized even employees it feels they work for family and then for you as a gust ( it how i assume it is ) pool os brilliant all is brilliant Private Cheff! Catholic church near Thanks God for this place!

Our group of six friends had this beautiful boutique hotel to ourselves for an overnight stay in Kandy. The rooms are beautifully decorated. Chef Umesh cooked us an amazing dinner on the rooftop patio. We could not stop talking about it, especially his grandmothers aubergine recipe. Thankyou Umesh for your warm hospitality, we wished we could stay longer.
