Dear Mr Guruge, Thank you so much for your beautiful words and for giving us 5/5 for our Rooms, Service and Location. It was genuinely a pleasure to welcome you to Queen’s during the Perahera. I’m especially happy that we were able to arrange the balcony room with such a wonderful view, allowing you to enjoy the Perahera comfortably and without missing those special moments. Knowing that you felt personally welcomed and cared for means a lot to me. The Perahera is such a magical part of Kandy, and I’m truly delighted that Queen’s Hotel became part of a lifetime memory for you. Thank you for your trust, kindness and appreciation. It was my pleasure to look after you, and I sincerely hope you will come back to Kandy and allow us to welcome you again at Queen’s. Warmest regards, Kumara Adikari

You can eat well without going far. The hotel itself has the Queen of Hearts Restaurant for traditional Sri Lankan dishes, plus Pub Royal for light snacks and a Lounge Bar for drinks. Just behind the hotel, Cafe Secret Alley is a favorite for coffee and meals, and Buono and Soul Food are also close by. For a quick bite, Sri Krishna Dosai serves Indian food just a minute away. Many other restaurants are within a short walk along the lakefront, so you will have plenty of choices for any meal.
The hotel sits right on the Kandy Lake front, with the Sacred City of Kandy, Sri Dalada Maligawa, and Royal Palace Park all a 4-minute walk away. Kandy Viewpoint and Arthur's Seat are 6 minutes on foot, and Udawatta Kele Sanctuary is a 10-minute walk. The area is walkable and central, with the lake and temple landmarks close by. You can also reach the Ceylon Tea Museum and Hanthana International Bird Park, both about 2.8 km away, with a short ride. The hotel's own bar, cafe, lobby bar, restaurant, and snack bar are on site for easy dining.
From Kandy railway station, the hotel is about a 900-meter walk, roughly 10 to 15 minutes on foot along the lakeside. If you arrive by air, the nearest airport is Victoria Reservoir SPB, about 1.3 km away, and Polgolla Reservoir Airport is 3.2 km from the hotel. For either airport, a taxi or a pre-booked transfer is the straightforward way to reach the hotel. The hotel also offers airport transportation, so you can arrange that in advance. Once you are on DS Senanayake Veediya, you will find the hotel right on the Kandy Lake front.
In the evening, you can take a short 4-minute walk to the Sacred City of Kandy and Sri Dalada Maligawa, where the atmosphere is serene. The Royal Palace Park, also 4 minutes away, is a pleasant spot for a stroll. For a drink or a bite, the hotel's own bar, lobby bar, and snack bar are right there, and nearby cafes like Cafe Secret Alley offer coffee and meals. You could also join a Kandy City Tour by Tuk Tuk to see the sights after dark. The Kandy Viewpoint, just 6 minutes away, is a good place to enjoy the evening scenery.
Yes, Queen's Hotel is an excellent base for exploring Kandy. The Sacred City of Kandy, Sri Dalada Maligawa, and Royal Palace Park are all just a 4-minute walk away, with Kandy Viewpoint and Arthur's Seat View Point 6 minutes on foot. Udawatta Kele Sanctuary is a 10-minute walk, perfect for a morning stroll. For farther sights like the Ceylon Tea Museum or Hanthana International Bird Park, both 2.8 km away, you can take a short tuk-tuk or taxi ride. The hotel's central lakeside location puts the city's heritage within easy reach.
