Such a hidden gem. The room is so spacious. The kitchenette is perfect, large bathroom and shower. Great storage space for luggage. Hi speed internet in the room and property. Beautiful area by the river for breakfast and breakfast is very tasty. It’s preselected, but very very good. They provide coffee for the room, shampoo, and body wash along with a hair dryer. There’s plenty of plug ins for phones, and there is a large TV. There is also air conditioning that works well. The beds were firm and very comfortable with the right amount of linen for the weather. The area is very well located and we saw lots of frogs at night, various birds during the day to include Toucans. The owners and staff are so very very nice. And there’s a small archeological site on the property. This would be my go to for La Fortuna. It’s so well worth it and I believe recently built.

This place is amazing has comfy beds and a cool shower head. Refrigerator did a good job at keeping our leftover food cold as well as has a mini freezer. THE BREAKFAST..... was amazing. I wish they had door dash to the USA just so I could get a taste of the oj again. Every day the fruit was amazing with a good variety. 100/10 would recommend to anyone who want to even think about Costa Rica. 🇨🇷

This was a great place to stay for our family. Very hospitable hosts, delicious breakfast, and a clean, comfortable room. The fridge and microwave were nice to have available, WiFi was great, and parking right next to the room was so convenient. Just a short drive to many restaurants and shops in town. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting La Fortuna! 🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷

A simple establishment for a quiet, peaceful few days to enjoy the nearby hot springs. Breakfast was included and other meals available for purchase from the restaurant. The room was not new but very clean and adequate for our needs. The wifi was not very reliable. Grounds were beautiful and lots of guava trees were bearing and I was able to pick and enjoy two of them. Also enjoyed the horseback tour which was worth every minute. Definitely would stay here again.

We had a brilliant stay at Arenal Descanso. The room was spacious and really well equipped, the grounds were beautiful, the breakfast was delicious and the staff were really friendly. It is slightly further out but you can easily and cheaply get Ubers wherever you need to go. Really recommend!

We loved our stay at Arenal Descanso. Calm and clean place. Breakfast area is so beautiful by the river. We got to see various beautiful birds while eating breakfast. Good service. We would surely recommend.

My mom and I enjoyed a fabulous stay at Arenal Descanso this week. This family run hotel feels so much more personal than a big resort, and they were so helpful and kind. The property is very pretty with a cool archeological site. Delicious typical breakfast included. Very close walk to the beautiful El Salto river area, and just the right distance away from downtown to make it quiet, but a quick, cheap Uber ride to all activities. Would definitely stay again!

Fantastic service, we felt so taken care of. The cottage is large and comfortable with a beautiful patio surrounded by plants and flowers. The breakfast was traditional and absolutely delicious, and eating outside by the river with toucans and cute frogs as company was such a treat!
