I have not had the pleasure of staying in this hotel yet but have visited the Sabini bar on a few occasions ,the decor is superb and the atmosphere relaxing with pleasant, attentive staff. It's a nice space to chill after a long walk. |There is an adjoining pub (Hat & Feathers)which again is a chilled place to enjoy a drink( and the ladies are worth a visit) with good food on the menu.|Overall if your in the area and at a loose end go visit- you won't be disappointed

We stayed at the hotel for a wedding nearby, and honestly it was a great choice. The location was perfect, the hotel had a really modern and stylish atmosphere, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet after a long day.
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and everything felt very well organised. The area around the hotel is also lovely, with plenty of nice cafés, restaurants, and easy transport connections.
We would definitely stay here again if we come back to London. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area, especially for events or weddings nearby.

I recently stayed here and overall had a mixed experience. The hotel itself is beautifully designed — the decor is fabulous, the location is excellent, and the room was lovely & comfortable. The breakfasts were also a real highlight, with a great choice of high-quality options as well as the ability to order à la carte.
However, there were a number of aspects that let the stay down. Some of the restaurant staff, while well-meaning, seemed quite inexperienced and it often felt like they were still in training, which impacted the level of service.
The reception experience also lacked warmth and connection. Check-in and check-out felt purely procedural, with no real sense of welcome — I wasn’t asked how my journey had been, offered a drink, or engaged with in a meaningful way. This stood in quite stark contrast to another hotel I stayed at within the group, which was half the price but delivered a much higher level of service and attentiveness.
I was also charged a £50 pet fee, but there was no acknowledgement of my dog during the stay — no bed, no bowls, and no additional touches. While I understand the fee may be intended to cover cleaning, the overall experience did not reflect this charge.
In addition, I experienced issues around communication, particularly when arriving late in the evening and being given incorrect information about food availability, despite 24-hour room service being available.
Overall, there are some lovely elements to this hotel, but the service and consistency didn’t quite match the setting.

We stayed at Hotel Indigo London Clerkenwell as a family and were delighted to be given a 1 King Suite with Sofa Bed. We visited for a family break in London and wanted somewhere comfortable, well located and practical for both adults and children. From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt like a thoughtful base rather than simply a place to sleep. Clerkenwell has plenty of character, and the hotel reflects the area in a way that feels distinctive without being overdone. For anyone searching for a family-friendly hotel in Clerkenwell, the generous suite layout made a real difference to our stay.
Our first impression was how bright and stylish the room felt. The modern colour palette was lifted by plenty of natural light, while colourful details referenced Clerkenwell’s history of goldsmiths, architects and clockmakers. The design had personality, but the room still felt calm and easy to live in as a family. The clockmaking theme was especially well handled, with small decorative touches throughout the suite rather than anything too theatrical. One fun detail was that the time shown on the clock outside our door matched the room itself, which gave us something unusual to notice and talk about. Despite the strong design, comfort remained the priority.
The 1 King Suite with Sofa Bed was the highlight of our stay. The king bed was comfortable, while the sofa bed gave us the extra sleeping space we needed without making the room feel cramped. Having a proper suite created useful separation and gave everyone more room to settle in, which is important when travelling with children. The themed details inspired by local clockmaking added character, while the bright colours and locally influenced design made the space feel connected to Clerkenwell.
The bathroom also felt well considered, with a glass-enclosed walk-in shower, handheld showerhead and a large, well-lit mirror. The Urban Apothecary amenities were a welcome touch and are vegan, cruelty-free and made in the UK. Overall, the suite felt spacious, practical and appropriately special for the setting.
Service throughout our stay was friendly and straightforward, and the hotel was easy to navigate as a family. We appreciated the practical touches that supported a comfortable visit without drawing too much attention to themselves. Sustainability was also built into the experience through LED lighting, motion sensors and Greener Stay door hangers. These measures felt sensible rather than intrusive.
We had breakfast at Wilderness Kitchen. It was okay and provided a convenient start to the day, although it was not the most memorable part of the stay. The wider hotel experience, particularly the room, was much stronger. Families looking for a London hotel with a king suite and sofa bed should find the layout especially useful.
This hotel would suit families who want more space than a standard London hotel room usually provides, while still enjoying a central location with a strong sense of place. The suite worked well for adults and children, and the combination of a king bed, sofa bed and generous bathroom made longer stays feel manageable. Couples would also enjoy the design and atmosphere, but the room configuration makes this hotel particularly appealing for family city breaks. Weekends work well for exploring London, while a weekday stay may offer a slightly calmer pace.
Our overall experience was very positive, largely because the suite exceeded our expectations. The thoughtful clockmaking theme, natural light, comfortable layout and practical family features made the stay feel both stylish and relaxed. Thank you to Mikaela for making our check-in smoother. Breakfast was acceptable rather than exceptional, but it did not take away from the quality of the accommodation.
We would happily return to Hotel Indigo London Clerkenwell and would recommend it to families looking for a distinctive, comfortable and family-friendly hotel in central London.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The room itself was nice, but the housekeeping standards were highly disappointing. Our room was only cleaned once after the very first night.
I spoke to the reception clerk after our room was skipped the first time, spoke to them again after the second time, and raised it one last time with the receptionist during checkout. While the staff were polite and everyone was really sorry, absolutely nothing was done to fix the issue during our stay. For an IHG hotel, this is definitely not the standard you expect.

this is my 3rd time staying there, first i stayed there with my both parents and my brother. they where super nice with all of us. the people at the breakfast was super friendly and the rooms are really comfortable. the location is 10/10, we love going to the barbican for a short walk. they provided me with a pass for a close by gym since they do not have a gym in the hotel, it was really close and fully equiped. loved it. the other times i went just with my brother, excellent service as often. i will stay there anytime i go to london <3

Great location, 5 mins walk from Barbican and Farringdon Tube Station. Hotel is very modern in appearance. Reception staff extremely welcoming and friendly. Rooms are modern and have all the amenities required.
However, housekeeping needs to be thorough in their cleaning! We did report this to reception, but never got our room cleaned in all 4 days stay.
Restaurant provides hot and cold buffet breakfast, but the hot buffet food was not hot. Restaurant staff need to listen to their guests, so they actually get their orders correct.
Pub adjoining the hotel seems ok, we tried the roast dinner, meat was excellent, but yorkshires were hard.
To sum up, would possibly stay again, but they need to improve housekeeping and restaurant staff.
