You have plenty of choice right at the hotel. The London Pub serves classic British dishes like fish and chips, burgers and pies, while Blooms Coffee & Pizza covers coffee, pastries and stone-baked pizza. Just across the street you will find Nonna Selena's, an Italian restaurant. For something different, Dishoom near Covent Garden is known for Indian-Iranian fusion cooking. Soho and Chinatown, with spots like Waxy O'Connors and O'Neill's Wardour Street, are a short trip away for more options.
Royal National Hotel sits in Bloomsbury, a neighbourhood of garden squares, Georgian architecture and quiet cultural energy. The British Museum is a 3 minute walk away, and the Charles Dickens Museum and Tottenham Court Road are about 10 minutes on foot. Theatreland, Covent Garden and Soho are all within a short walk or tube ride for bars and nightlife. Russell Square station is just a minute away, so the rest of London is easy to reach. On site you have the London Pub and Blooms Cafe for food and drinks without going far.
The hotel sits a minute from Russell Square station, so the Tube is the easy way in. From Heathrow, take the Piccadilly line to Russell Square, roughly 55 minutes. From London City, train and subway take about 41 minutes. If you arrive at King's Cross St Pancras or Euston, both are about 15 minutes away, so a short taxi or ride-hailing trip works well. A pre-booked transfer is another simple option from any airport.
Start the evening at The London Pub, the hotel's own bar, for a cold beer and a bite while the sport plays on the big screens. Blooms Coffee & Pizza and the hotel's Cafe, Restaurant and Snack bar are also on hand for something quick before you head out. Soho's bars and clubs are less than 20 minutes away, and Theatreland is about a 15 minute walk for a West End show. Leicester Square is an 18 minute walk and Trafalgar Square 21 minutes, both easy evening strolls. For anything further, a taxi or ride-hailing car from the door is the simplest option.
Yes, Royal National Hotel sits in Bloomsbury, a short walk from some of London's best-known sights. Leicester Square is an 18 minute walk and Trafalgar Square 21 minutes, so the West End is easy on foot. The British Museum is 3 minutes away and Theatreland about 15 minutes. Bigger landmarks like St. Paul's Cathedral, the London Eye and Big Ben are around 2.3 to 2.5 km, a straightforward trip by tube or taxi. With Russell Square station a minute away, the rest of London opens up quickly.
