Thank you very much for your wonderful review! We are so happy to hear that the foot bath on your balcony and the sound of the nearby stream provided a relaxing backdrop for your stay. It is our goal to be a peaceful sanctuary for those exploring the beauty of Kamikochi. As you mentioned, we are located in a prime spot for a 3-day trip. For your next adventure, please remember that from 2026, we now offer a "Bento Box" breakfast swap. This allows you to catch the early bus—located right in front of our entrance—and enjoy your meal amidst the nature of Kamikochi. We look forward to welcoming you back for another unforgettable experience!

Thank you for your review! We are glad you enjoyed our traditional atmosphere and peaceful environment. Regarding the shower, while our standard rooms do not have one to encourage the use of our natural hot spring baths, we do have shower booths available in our "Suite Room" on the 1st floor and our "Foot Bath Terrace" rooms on the 2nd floor. For your next stay, we recommend these room types for added comfort. Don't forget, the taxi rank is right in front of us, and the Sawando Bus Terminal is just a 5-minute walk away. We also offer a "Bento Box" breakfast from 2026 for early hikers. We look forward to seeing you again!

The hotel has a cafe where you can enjoy coffee and light refreshments. For a fuller meal, Osyokujidokoro Shimomaki is a nearby casual spot known for soba and mountain dishes. Glen Park Sawando, about a 5-minute walk away, is a useful eatery area by the bus terminal. You can also walk to Yu-no-sato Park, just 0.15 km away, which has a footbath area and may have local food options. For more choices, the Sawando bus terminal area is a short walk and a good starting point to find other simple local places.
You are in the mountain village of Sawando, right at the gateway to Kamikochi and the Norikura Highlands. The ryokan sits in quiet nature, with Yu-no-sato Park just 0.15 km away and the Sawando National Park Gate 0.37 km from the door. The Sawando Bus Terminal, a 5-minute walk, is the hub for shuttles into Kamikochi, and Glenpark Sawando, a small shopping area, is about 510 m away. Matsumoto city, with its castle and museums, is roughly 29 km off, so this is a peaceful alpine base rather than an urban spot. The hotel's own cafe is right here for a quiet break.
From Matsumoto Station, take the Alpico line to Shin-Shimashima Station, then transfer to a Norikura Kogen area bus and get off at Sawando Bus Terminal, a 5-minute walk from the hotel. From Shinshu-Matsumoto Airport, a taxi or pre-booked transfer takes about 60 to 75 minutes by car. The hotel is also about 65 minutes by bus from Matsumoto Bus Terminal, with the terminal a 5-minute walk away. A shared taxi stand is just a 1-minute walk from the hotel, and the staff can call a taxi directly for you.
In the evening, you can relax at the hotel's own cafe or enjoy the on-site hot spring, a perfect way to unwind after a day in the mountains. For a short stroll, Yu-no-sato Park is just 260 meters away, and the Sawando National Park Gate is 370 meters from the hotel. The nearby Glenpark Sawando, about a 5-minute walk, offers a casual eatery area by the bus terminal. For a more substantial meal, Osyokujidokoro Shimomaki, about 1 kilometer away, serves soba and mountain dishes. Since Kamikochi's sights are over 9 kilometers away, the evening is best spent enjoying the quiet alpine setting and the hotel's own amenities.
Keiryuso Shiorie is a great base for exploring the Japanese Alps, especially Kamikochi. The Sawando Bus Terminal, a 5-minute walk away, offers shuttle buses to Kamikochi, with Kappabashi Bridge and Myojin Bridge about 9.4 and 9.7 km from the hotel. For Matsumoto city sights like Matsumoto Castle, Nawate Shopping Street, and the city museum, you are about 29.5 to 29.6 km away, so plan for a car or bus trip of roughly 50 minutes. The hotel's location also works well for day trips to Takayama, about 90 minutes by bus. With the bus terminal so close, you can easily explore the mountains and return to the ryokan's cafe for a relaxing break.
