WARNING: Serious Hygiene Concerns – Think Twice Before Booking This Hotel I became ill with Giardia, a microscopic parasite that infects the intestines and causes an illness known as giardiasis. It can cause diarrhoea, stomach cramps, bloating and fatigue, and symptoms can last for several weeks. I have now been ill for two weeks, and I just had the confirmation from my doctors that I contracted it from the hotel's swimming pool by putting my head under the water. What makes this experience even worse is that the hotel has refused to properly investigate my concerns or offer any compensation for the suffering I have experienced. I feel completely let down by the way this situation has been handled. The hygiene issues did not stop at the swimming pool. The bathroom was in a terrible state, with significant mould covering the ceiling and parts of it appearing as though they were about to collapse. This was both unpleasant and concerning. In my opinion, this hotel falls far short of the standards I would expect from a four-star establishment. The overall cleanliness and hygiene were extremely disappointing, and the hotel's response to my concerns has only made the experience worse. I strongly advise other guests to think carefully before booking this hotel and to avoid using the swimming pool until these concerns have been properly investigated. No guest should have to spend two weeks suffering from an illness while feeling that their concerns are being ignored.

Very well trained and attentive staff. Could not sleep in room 923 first 2 nights due to loud music until 4:30 a.m. Resolved when moved to room 928. Business class breakfast improved. Service there excellent. Food inconsistent. Fruit great. Two kinds of scrambled eggs in large pan with some liquid for moisture below standard. Recommend omelets or prepared to order. Meats improved with 1 day inclusion of sausage. But beef and chicken leftovers dry and out of place. Recommend bacon. Yogurt with fruit would be nice. Sandwiches with ham, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes good. Workout room nice. Could be improved with bench press station and abdominal machine or fixture. Shower controls in 923 needs adjusted, caulked to fill in space behind fixture that should be flush. Gift shop and cafe prices too high for casual gifts and meals. Currency contractor had splitting $100 US bill into part pesos, part US. Linens and towels fresh and plentiful. Robe comfortable and appreciated. Rooftop pool and swim pool senseless. Too shallow for one insufficient current for other. Water cold. Should be replaced with spa-hot tub feature, which would fit well against cool air of mountains and be more appropriate for rooftop-bar use.

The biggest plus for the hotel is its location. The service is also pretty good and staff is friendly. But the hotel is rather dated. The carpet is old and worn. The AC is very load and we had to turn it off at night. The worst part is water- the water flow is so low it is hard to wash face. Another potential downside is this area is very busy at night. The music on the street can be heard from our 10th floor room. But if you come prepared with earplugs then you are OK.

The room 6th floor, front street view, this was supposed to be an upgrade (according to the check in) is small, outdated and run down. The beds, sheets and pillows are excellent, but this didn’t matter because we were not sleeping. Our room was 30 meters from a regularly scheduled 11pm- 5am “boots n cats” club music extravaganza which penetrated earplugs and sound cancelling headphones. The doors are not sealed so both light and sound flows in through the hallway, and once and if you fall asleep despite these interruptions, the air conditioning will intermittently scream on or shut off starling you to awaken. The water pressure is ridiculously ineffective which doubles your shower time attempting to get the conveniently provided product out of your hair. After your shower you can struggle with any additional guests for the one hook provided for towels. If you want a coffee you will need to leave your room as the coffee set up provided is only to tempt you into trying to make yourself a coffee, but you will be thwarted by needing something more each time because it’s not there. We used the beautiful clean roof top pool and well equipped gym which are both surrounded by speakers that are pumping out club tunes, literally ALL the time, there is literally NO peace in this hotel. The restaurant is lovely and the food was great, but we were not in need of this convenience more than once because it’s surrounded by restaurants and coffee shops in the surrounding neighbourhoods. There is a coffee shop downstairs which is disappointingly STARBUCKS and not a local provider, but luckily for us there are two beautiful cafes within steps of the hotel. I’m super disappointed with the front desk staff, they were dismissive and unhelpful. The housekeeping was intermittent and came only every second day, although they did a beautiful job when they came and were as kind and thoughtful as possible. We stayed at this hotel for the location but I’m not recommending it, nor will I be back unless I suddenly want to be up all night at a club or feel like I was!

If I could give a 10 star rating for this hotel I would give it in a heartbeat. Every single thing about this hotel was beyond what I expected. The location is centralized pretty much to everything. The room was super clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff was very responsive to our needs. We had a series of unexpected events happen to us and without hesitation they responded to our requests immediately. They really do go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. Their customer service is exceptional!!! If I get the opportunity to visit Mexico City again, this definitely where I will be staying.

Stayed here for several nights during a trip to Mexico City. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location. It’s just a couple of blocks from El Ángel and within walking distance of many restaurants, bars, and attractions in Zona Rosa. We were even able to walk to Chapultepec Park and the Anthropology museum. The staff was friendly and professional throughout our stay. That said, there were a few downsides. The rooms are quite small, although the price reflects that and may be acceptable for travelers looking for an affordable option in a central location. The bigger issues were noise and cleanliness. Despite being on the 8th floor, we could clearly hear traffic and constant honking from Paseo de la Reforma throughout the night. Unfortunately, on our last evening we also found a small cockroach in the room, which significantly affected our overall impression of the hotel. Overall, the location and staff were great, but the room conditions kept this from being a better experience.

Overall, the hotel exceeded my expectations. The location is right next to drug stores, convenience stores, and many restaurants. The street is extremely busy as it is one block from a very busy US Embassy Annex, so be prepared. We did not use the parking. Front desk staff are efficient and speak English. The two restaurants in the hotel are remarkable, esp. the breakfast buffet. Our room was smallish, but very comfortable, modern, and very clean. The A/C worked great. The room service staff was extremely helpful when we needed help with laundry and extra towels. The Rooftop is an extremely pleasant place to hang out, and the rooftop gym is very nice.

The hotel pleasantly surprised us. The area is excellent, full of great restaurants, and the hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and the staff treated us extremely well. They allowed us to check in an hour and a half before the official check-in time, which was wonderful and made a huge difference for us since we were tired from our flight. I would definitely recommend it. Thank you, Galeria Plaza, for making this special trip even more special!
