A practical and welcoming place to stay! We stayed in a room for three people and had enough space for everyone. The beds were a good size, and there was also enough room for our luggage. The bathroom was relatively small and narrow, but it was clean and perfectly fine for our stay. Since it can get quite cold at night in Monteverde, we appreciated that enough blankets were provided. Free tea and coffee are available throughout the day in the downstairs kitchen. Breakfast can also be arranged by letting the staff know the day before. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They also assisted us with booking activities around Monteverde, which made planning our stay much easier. Overall, Cabinas El Pueblo was a comfortable and convenient place to stay!

Would give a 4.5 to be exact. I stayed for about 2 nights at the end of March 2026. Location is close to a lot of good food and souvenir shops, the host is very kind, friendly, and helpful if you need assistance with booking activities or need food recommendations. Shower pressure and water temperature were okay. It's nice that each room has its own washroom.

What a wonderful , authentic stay. We were welcomed into the family home and our lovely host was so helpful. On arrival welcomed with coffee and homemade banana cake. Very central for town and accessing tours. A wonderful breakfast each day. Enjoyed sitting in the small garden with butterflies and beautiful plants. Pura Vida!

We had a wonderful stay at Cabinas el Pueblo! Perfect location near center of Santa Elena and an easy taxi ride to the cloud forest. They helped us book tours and transportation as well.

I have traveled all over the world and have never encountered such a hostile and unprofessional hotel experience. We had an ongoing issue with our booking and tried to resolve it with the hotel a day before check-in. The hotel insisted everything be handled through Booking.com. However, upon arrival, the front desk staff demanded an unreasonable additional fee (USD $60 per room) as a condition for us to check in. Even while we were on the phone with Booking.com trying to mediate, the hotel staff remained aggressive and unyielding. The most shocking part was the front desk agent's attitude—she was literally filing her nails while speaking to us in a contemptuous tone, stating there was "no other way" but to pay the extra fee. Due to this blatant attempt at price-gouging and the insulting service, we chose to walk away and find another hotel nearby. This establishment has zero respect for guests or their own partnership with booking platforms. Save your money and your sanity—do not stay here.

Had a wonderful stay here, the rooms and the kitchen were nice and well equipped! Had everything I needed for my stay. Plus, the host was incredibly helpful and helped me plan my trip and figure out transportation. Grocery store, restaurants and little shops super close, highly recommend this place if you need to stay in Monteverde!

What a great overall experience! Rooms were great with enough room for us and the kids, hot water ran hot, the location was close to town, and the owners even helped save us a parking space with their 4x4, and helped us book whatever excursions we wanted to do easily. They made a great breakfast every morning, too. We loved the stay and the experience here - really great value! Cloud forest was beautiful and the zip lining was epic. Just a great overall time here!!
