I led a group trip to Costa Rica for 26 members of a club and we travelled to 3 areas in Costa Rica. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while in Monte Verde. Everyone loved it! We had a group dinner in the restaurant that was fabulous! The breakfast buffet was the perfect way to start the day as they offered many local dishes, eggs to order and a variety of fruits. The rooms and public areas were very clean and the spa was also nice and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was comfortable but nothing magical. The staff are helpful and the facilities work but aren’t in perfect condition.

Poco a poco exceeded all our expectations. Like a work of art in and of itself. The designer has created a beautiful space full of plants and art and sculpture every where you look. The staff are so kind and smiley and good fun. The breakfast offering was huge and varied and delicious. The hotel's position so close to all the shops, art galleries and cafes was perfect for us giving us choice on where we wanted to eat. We had a problem with left luggage in a transportation bus, a lost son (for a short while! He was in one of the bathrooms by the spa!) and laundry that we needed washing. Nothing was too much trouble for them to help us with. We went on a night walk in the jungle and a zip lining adventure. All were so much fun, educational and organised so smoothly. There was some refurbishments going on during our stay but they were done very discreetly and didn't effect our stay at all. We just wish we could have stayed longer. We cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Our stay at Poco a Poco was fantastic from start to finish. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, making it the perfect place to relax after our adventures. We especially enjoyed the excellent spa massage and the warm, friendly bartenders who made every evening enjoyable. A special thank you to Axel at the front desk, who went above and beyond to help us book tours and ensure we had an amazing experience throughout our trip. His recommendations and outstanding service truly made our visit unforgettable. Overall, a well-deserved 5/5—we would happily stay here again!

We spent an amazing three days at this hotel and want to thank the staff for making this a very special experience. The room with the jacuzzi was beautiful, the location was super convenient being steps away from downtown and the grounds with the walking path are stunning. Food at the restaurant was good and breakfast was decent but the staff made it all so much better with their courtesy and willingness to go overboard to satisfy our requirements. Thanks to the the amazing staff for making this a very special trip. Highly recommend!

Stayed 3 nights. Classed as 4 star but lacked a little. The hotel feels boutique style and is quite lovely. Staff were exceptionally good. In bar area could do enough and it was nice in the evening to sit round the fire pits in bar area. Well done on that. I know we are in the cloud forest but it would be nice to have some of the pool not covered. The whole pool is under cover. Areas around under cover to sit and lounge which is nice, but, we had lovely weather and there was no where outside to sit and enjoy the sun except on chairs at tables or wooden seats by the fire pit. Enjoyed our stay but on reflection we probably think 2 nights is enough. Plenty to do in the area and the transport is top notch though. The rooms are quite small and basic. Our shower was dreadful. Water running out of sides not through shower head did report it on check out so hope they have prepared it. Not really what you expect for 4 stars. Did not eat in restaurant as wanted to experience costa rica local food. Breakfast was OK but not fantastic. Lot of maintenance going on too around the place which was a tad annoying . Not sure we would visit here again but the staff were lovely.

We had an amazing experience at Poco a Poco! The hotel is stunning with beautiful rain gardens that make everything look like art, inside and out. Rooms were comfortable and equipped with amenities including drinks and snacks that were included. We had a lovely experience with staff, especially Lily (front desk) and Daniel (wait staff). We would highly recommend and would visit again!

The hotel is very nicely done, with quirky decor and features. It is done well and all the staff were attentive and helpful. Located close to the centre of the town, it is easy to access bars, restaurants etc. There is a supermarket in the small shopping centre across the road, plus a pharmacy - both were very useful. We had a nice room and had a hot tub in a private area/annex. This was great after all the walking. Strangely there are no loungers outside (as the pool is under the building with one open aspect). We wanted to have a relax in the sun/shade outside, so had to use some wooden chairs. I think this is an oversight. The breakfast was the disappointment for me. It was slow service (friendly but slow), and the choice was basic - in particular the fruit was not up to standards elsewhere.
