Excellent hotel for our needs as a family wanting a suite all together. Two King beds plus twin bunk beds plus a sofa bed allowed us each to have our own bed while still being in the same suite. Having TWO bathrooms in the suite was very nice addition allowing the kids to have their own so we could all get ready faster. Because it also included a small kitchenette area, it was more roomy and better, but still cheaper, than having two hotel rooms, which would have been our 2nd choice. The suite appeared to have been recently renovated and sparkling clean with current styles. We highly recommend TRYP's Family Room #901 to those with similar needs.

OK, after seeing all of these negative reviews I was hesitant to stay at this reasonably priced midtown Manhattan hotel. I shouldn't have worried. This Wyndham property is literally located along the A-C-E lines on West 34th/Penn Station and convenient to all major attractions in the city. Furthermore, it's situated right next to the NYPD station - what could be safer? It's like having your own private guard stationed there! The vibe is "midtown-loft-budget-chic" here. The front desk was quite friendly and prepared to answer my questions about amenities, visitors etc. I got a king-size bed which was clean and comfortable, and the oversized bathroom was decked out with lots of amenities. Maid service was prompt and dedicated. The A/C and heater both worked - and from the way the weather was going wild in New York last weekend, I needed both of them! Breakfast is available for either $15 (continental) or $20 (full American), and both are buffet style. Given that it's midtown, the prices are a steal - just compare them to other diners or restaurants nearby. Speaking of which - you are literally surrounded by good restaurants in this area, both along Eighth and Ninth Avenues. Whether you want American, French, Italian, Chinese, Thai or Japanese, they are all literally within a 5-minute walk from the Tryp. Unlike other commenters here, I never experienced bedbugs, rude service, non-functioning utilities or other mishaps. The stay is what you make of it. That being said - I gave this a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars. The only detractions were the fitness room (not big enough or equipped enough for my taste), and the paper-thin walls in the building. However, the hotel is kind enough to have both eye masks and earplugs already supplied in your room on your nightstand. If you choose not to use them, that's on YOU. Also, the scaffolding around the building sort of detracts from the overall quality of the location, but hey - it's New York. Something somewhere is always under construction, no matter where you go. That's life. Would I stay again? Yes, if the price and the conditions were right. If you're a Wyndham Rewards member, this is the place for you - the accommodations and location are hard to beat. If you need to be pampered, go check in somewhere else.

DO NOT STAY HERE - BED BUG INFESTATION AND HOSTILE MANAGEMENT!!! We had a horrible experience at this hotel. We found a bed bug in our room and notified the front desk immediately. They moved us to a different room but refused to help us any further, claiming they were unable to do anything without a manager. The next day the manager conveniently still wasn’t there and only came to speak with us after we made it clear that we weren’t leaving without talking to him. The manager’s name is John Sharma and was incredibly disrespectful to us. He claimed there were no bed bugs (despite our photo and video evidence) and implied that we had brought them in ourselves. Since the hotel provided no assistance in decontaminating our belongings, we spent hundreds of dollars and hours of our vacation getting professional cleaning, heat treatment services, and disposing of infested items like suitcases. We had to miss our scheduled plans including a Broadway show we had already paid for. It was truly a nightmare scenario and we are still dealing with the repercussions of our stay. Unfortunately, this is not a one-off situation, and you can find several other bedbug complaints on NYC’s HPD Online website. Ironically, the hotel also has an outstanding violation for failing to submit an annual bedbug report. Please do not stay here for the sake of your physical and mental wellbeing!

We recently stayed in a 14th-floor corner room at TRYP, and the space and views were absolutely fantastic—easily the highlight of the stay. Check-in was a breeze, and the location is perfect for anyone wanting to be near Times Square without being right in the middle of the chaos. However, the room was freezing. To the staff's credit, they were very responsive and brought up a space heater and extra blankets immediately, but it seems like a known issue. The pizza from room service was surprisingly good! My only major complaint is the gym; it was quite dirty and lacked any sanitizing wipes, which made working out feel pretty unhygienic. Great for the location and the staff, but the HVAC and gym cleanliness need work.

I stayed at Tryp by Wyndham Times Square South for Valentine’s Day weekend 2026 Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the room was clean and comfortable, though small. The staff were professional but neutral—no one was rude, but it felt transactional rather than welcoming. There is exterior construction covered in tarps, which didn’t affect my stay. After reading concerning reviews on Google about bed bugs, I checked thoroughly and had no issues. The front desk photocopied both my driver’s license and credit card at check-in for every guest, which felt outdated and raised privacy concerns. Overall, it’s a practical, reasonably priced option, but it doesn’t quite deliver a true 4-star experience.

we enjoyed our stay. clesn rooms, plenty of space. coffee and water in room daily. the entrance was great wjth the bar area right there. can bring friends back and have a drink if you want..menu looks great. also great walking distance to everything.

We booked a family suite and it's huge! 2 full size beds in one room, bunk beds and a let out couch in other room and 2 full baths. For midtown Manhattan this is a mansion! As has usually been my experience with TRYP hotels, decently appointed, pretty clean though we did find some finger prints on various fixtures and door handles and good on-site amenities (restaurant/bar, fitness room). The front desk was abysmal however. In town for a girls weekend and my friend booked the room through booking.com. I arrived 1st and the staff immediately took on a we're not going to lift a finger to help you and completely dismissive posture. The front desk clerk was quick to tell me that we either had to cancel the reservation in my friend's name and I book it or have my friend send in an authorization form along with a copy of her license and credit card. They were equally quick at making a mistake when they sent her the form and had a different guest name in the email. When I tried to ask who this other person was, I was disstainfully shooed away and reminded that to gain access to the room I had two options. Clearly I understood that and was trying to explain that my friend did not feel comfortable sharing highly confidential information when TRYP couldn't even be bothered to get the name right. Would this same carelessness be used with her driver license and credit card information? When the mistake was finally realized, there wasn't even an apology. The two front desk clerks seemed hell bent on saying no rather than trying to help us access the room we'd already paid for. I'm all for policies, but adhering to policy does not require condescending and dismissive behaviors and it should always be accompanied by humility when the hotel has made a mistake.
