Very disappointing experience for a wellness hotel. We booked Hotel Apollo in Portorož because we wanted to relax and enjoy a proper wellness stay. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. When we wanted to enter the sauna area, access was denied and we were told that we had to pay extra. We were not informed about this clearly in advance, not before arrival and not during check in. For a hotel that presents itself as a wellness hotel, this is misleading in our opinion. Guests naturally expect the main wellness facilities, especially the sauna area, to be included or at least clearly communicated before booking. We were also surprised that bathrobes are charged separately. Again, this does not match what we expect from a wellness hotel. When we asked at reception, the answer was simply that the manager had decided it this way. That was not helpful, not guest oriented and did not feel like a professional solution. We contacted the hotel directly before writing this review and gave them the opportunity to respond and find a fair solution. Unfortunately, we did not receive any reply. Overall, this was not the relaxing wellness experience we had hoped for. The hotel should communicate additional wellness charges much more clearly and treat guest concerns more seriously.

The best thing about this hotel is the Spa center (shared with a couple of other hotels) which is directly accessible. Pools with salt water and everything that goes with it will allow you perfect relaxation and quality time spent.|The rooms are very large, with balconies and tastefully furnished. What I don't like is the wall-to-wall carpet, not the best solution for a seaside hotel. In such a large room, they could provide more storage space. Parking is subject to availability and is payable. One gets the impression that the availability of parking spaces is the direct and exclusive responsibility of the porter.|The staff is not overly friendly. In the hotel (which is not cheap), you pay separately for towels for the Spa, towels for the beach, a bathrobe and the already mentioned parking. The hotel has one elevator, which often takes a little longer to wait. The restaurant is like a workers' canteen, without much effort put into its decoration. Breakfast is average.|So, I would probably come again and, with all the objections that are good to know before coming, I would still recommend the hotel for its excellent central location, for the room which is, after all, comfortable and of course for the Spa center.

LifeClass hotels in Portoroz are all in a great central location, very very clean and excellent breakfast & dinner. I stayed for three nights and never had a small complaint. I recommend Hotel Neptun with full marks💯

The worst 4-star hotel I have ever visited (and I have stayed in about 50 hotels worldwide). Huge disappointment. I would highly recommend avoiding the LifeClass hotel chain at all costs. ​Positive: The only positive things about this hotel were the large, modern, and very nice room and the proactive reception staff who called me every day to ask if I needed fresh towels when I had the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door. In general, the staff on the ground were very pleasant, polite, and helpful. It is clearly not their fault that the hotel management and system are failing so miserably. ​Negative: Everything else was a disaster. I booked this hotel specifically for the thermal pools and saunas due to my severe health and back issues. Before my arrival, I was directly lied to and told that everything would be open and fully functional. Upon arrival, I found out that BOTH the thermal pools and the sauna park were completely closed for summer maintenance without any prior notice. When you go to a thermal wellness hotel and the wellness doesn't work at all, it is an extreme failure. Without these promised services, this hotel was incredibly overpriced and completely lost its value. We could have just stayed in a cheap guesthouse for a fraction of the price! ​We were there in July, during the peak summer season, which made the following issues even worse. All the hotel bars (both indoor and by the pool) were closed during our stay. It was impossible to even enjoy a coffee by the water. Worse yet, with the outdoor pool bar closed in the blistering July heat, you couldn't even buy a bottle of water. The hotel wasn't even capable of providing a basic water barrel or dispenser for the guests by the pool. ​To top it all off, charging a registration/extra fee for bathrobes in a designated wellness hotel is a complete joke. In fact, under normal circumstances, they even charge an extra fee for sauna access, which is absolutely ridiculous for a spa resort. ​The hotel parking was completely full, and the only alternative offered was a parking lot more than 2 km away. This distant parking costs 15 EUR per day, and the hotel does not even provide a shuttle service. If a hotel forces you to park that far away, it should either be free or come with a complimentary shuttle. I take the parking and food as they are and wouldn't expect compensation for that, but the wellness situation is unacceptable. ​Regarding communication, after they shut down everything I traveled there for, I tried to agree on a fair compensation. The management took about 36 hours to reply, and their response felt like a slap in the face. They offered me access to one single Finnish sauna in 30-degree summer heat. For someone with a herniated disc who needs thermal water therapy, this was an insulting joke and zero effort to solve a real problem. Even a bottle of wine sent to the room, or a back massage tailored for a herniated disc, or a mud/fango back pack—or honestly both, given how much we paid—would have made me happy and would cost them almost nothing. Instead, they chose to laugh in my face. ​The food was another low point. Breakfast was exactly the same every single day with a very poor selection and low quality. Dinners changed daily, but the selection remained minimal and the quality was average at best – it felt like a slightly better institutional/company cafeteria, definitely not a 4-star experience. ​Summed up: Misleading information, outright lies before arrival, heavily limited services, terrible management, and an absolute lack of respect for the guest. Thank goodness we only stayed for 4 nights. I would highly recommend avoiding the LifeClass hotel chain at all costs.

Good hotel near the beach. The room was big and clean. Some minor adjustments to do but it fits exactly on what was expected!!

Great hotel, great location but you have to cross another hotel to get out on the sea front. The entrance/exit of this hotel is in another street. Quiet parking lot. The pool is nice, you also have many spots to go swim in the sea. Some services are not included when they usually are in some other hotels like sauna, bathrobe… It’s very hot in the corridors upstairs, the beds are okay but the room service is not so good. What I mean is that the bed was merely done in the morning, we didn’t get new soap when we were done with the ones we had. Only body towel and hand towel, no hair ones. The refreshing device is noisy. The food is overall okay, but you have to choose wisely what you put in your plate. Otherwise it’s okay.

The room was fine, nothing special, but I was really disappointed with the cleanliness. The cleaning staff didn’t come even once during my stay – no fresh towels, no emptying of the trash, and no replacement of toilet paper. This is unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. The restaurant was at the lowest possible level – the food selection was poor, and there were practically no options for vegetarians. In addition, some members of the staff (around two or three) behaved quite arrogantly and unprofessionally, which made the overall experience even worse. The infrastructure also leaves much to be desired – there is only one elevator for six floors, which means long waiting times, especially during breakfast or check-out hours. On top of that, the WiFi didn’t work at all during my entire stay.

The rooms were spacious and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was as well but had an unpleasant odor. The staff were less than helpful with navigation, additional services and the like. I think it was a language issue.
