AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Cove Bay is a wide, uncrowded crescent of soft white sand on Anguilla's southwestern coast, facing the open Caribbean toward St. Martin. Known for its tranquil atmosphere, gorgeous sunset light, and the legendary horseback beach rides at Seaside Stables, it is one of the island's quietly rewarding beaches — the kind regulars return to precisely because most visitors overlook it.↗↗↗
The beach stretches over a mile with a gradual sandy bottom and gentle surf, flanked by sand dunes on the inland edge. It connects seamlessly to Rendezvous Bay to the east, so a long shoreline walk carries you between two beautiful bays under the same uninterrupted sky.↗↗↗
What Makes Cove Bay Special
Cove Bay earns its reputation as one of Anguilla's most peaceful stretches of sand. Tucked between the more famous Maundays Bay to the west and Rendezvous Bay to the east, the bay avoids resort development almost entirely. Long stretches have nothing behind them but dune and scrub, giving the beach a raw, natural beauty that feels more like the Caribbean of memory than of marketing. The south-southwest orientation means the afternoon light turns golden and the sunsets are among the most vivid on the island, with the silhouette of St. Martin anchoring the horizon.
