AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Rodger's Beach is a narrow crescent of pale sand tucked into a sheltered bay on Aruba's southeastern tip, where brightly painted fishing boats rock at anchor and the water stays so calm and clear that an afternoon here feels like finding a secret. Officially known locally as Nanki, this public beach sits just a minute's drive from the far better-known Baby Beach, yet weekdays can bring fewer than twenty visitors to its shoreline.↗↗↗
Named after the British captain who ran Aruba's Lago oil refinery in the 1920s, Rodger's Beach carries the layered history of San Nicolas — the island's industrial southern town — in plain view. The refinery site stands between the town and the sand, and the entire area around it is now being redeveloped. For visitors, though, the draw remains the same as it has always been: turquoise water, quiet white sand, and an authentic local-feeling stretch of Caribbean coast.↗↗↗
