AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Los Peñascos Viewpoint is Grazalema's premier panoramic lookout, perched at 910 metres on the upper edge of the white village's historic quarter. From this terrace you get a sweeping 360-degree vista over the Peñón Grande, the Guadalete Valley, and the forested ridges of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the province of Cádiz.↗↗↗
Rated 4.6 out of 5 by hundreds of visitors, the mirador is free to access at any hour and is reached via a charming walk through Grazalema's narrow, whitewashed lanes. It is one of the must-stop viewpoints along Spain's famous Pueblos Blancos route.↗↗↗
What Makes It Special
The view from Los Peñascos is nothing short of dramatic. At your feet, Grazalema's compact historic quarter tucks between two hillsides, its bell towers and tiled roofs — including the prominent Church of San José — creating a living miniature that you can seemingly hover over like a bird. Beyond the rooftops, the Guadalete Valley unfurls southward, while the jagged mass of the Peñón Grande rises to the north, its slopes clothed in the rare pinsapo firs that give this sierra its unique character. On clear days the view stretches to the Serranía de Ronda on the horizon.
