AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Kuriftu Water Park is Ethiopia's premier aquatic playground, sprawling across 30,000 square metres near the crater-lake town of Bishoftu (Debre Zeit), roughly 50 kilometres southeast of Addis Ababa. Built as part of the Kuriftu Resort & Spa complex, it offers a full day of water thrills—from heart-pounding spiral slides to a rolling wave pool—set against the lush green landscape of Ethiopia's Rift Valley highlands.↗↗
Whether you're planning a family weekend, a birthday bash, or a group outing, the park delivers nonstop splash-tastic entertainment with attractions for every age and thrill level, plus on-site dining, live performances, and shaded relaxation areas.↗↗
Thrills and Splashes
The headline attractions at Kuriftu are the slides: the Triple Spiral Slides whip riders through tight twisting curves, while the Boomerang Slide launches you up a curved wall before sending you back down the other side. The Wave Pool lets you relax and ride artificial rollers, a particular favourite among visitors. For younger children or anyone wanting gentler fun, the Small and Medium Water Houses offer interactive climbing, tipping buckets, and splash zones designed for smaller adventurers.
