AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Aqualand Corfu is a sprawling water park set among the trees just outside the village of Agios Ioannis, about nine kilometres from Corfu town on the Pelekas road. Billed as one of the biggest water parks in the world, it strings together some 51 slides, pools and games, mixing raw adrenaline with the slow, sun-soaked relaxation you actually want from a Greek summer day.↗↗
The site is deliberately built for every kind of visitor: daredevil tower rides for teenagers and adults, gentle rafting and tornado flumes for families, and entire splash zones sized down for toddlers. Between the thrills there is a 350-metre lazy river, a wave pool, a jacuzzi, plus dining, spa treatments and a video arcade to wind down. For families holidaying on Corfu, it is the kind of full-day destination that keeps kids happy from opening until closing.↗↗
Thrill rides for the brave
The headline attractions live at the tall end of the park. The 24-metre Free Fall and its Free Fall Plus variant drop you almost straight down, while the Kamikazes send you screaming from a 12-metre launch. The Hydrotube is a sealed accelerating tube that shoots you into the pool at speed, and the Double Twisters twist you between two funnels. If you prefer pitch-black panic to open-air plunges, the Black Hole swallows you into a tunnel where no light escapes, and the Catapult literally launches you into the air before you splash down.
