Playa Grandi
Playa Grandi — called Playa Piskadó by locals, where piskadó means 'fisherman' in Papiamentu — is a working fishing cove at the far-western tip of Curaçao that has become one of the Caribbean's most reliable spots to snorkel with wild green sea turtles. Fishermen clean their daily catch on the pier, the scraps draw turtles into the calm shallows, and within minutes of slipping on a mask you can watch them glide past your face, often within arm's reach. This is no resort beach. The sand is narrow, boats are hauled up on the shore, nets dry in the sun, and gulls wheel overhead. That rough, honest character is exactly what makes Playa Grandi special: you are visiting a real fishing village where wildlife and livelihood have intertwined for generations.
