Mayembé
Mayembé is a small stream flowing through the Sangha department in the northern Republic of the Congo, deep within the Congo Basin's vast equatorial rainforest. Far from any tourist infrastructure, it sits within one of the largest intact tropical forest–wetland systems on Earth — the Cuvette Centrale — whose slow-moving waterways and seasonally flooded swamp forests remain almost entirely inaccessible to visitors.
