Paddon Lake
Paddon Lake is a small wilderness lake set in the unorganized District of Thunder Bay in northwestern Ontario, far from any town on the rolling boreal forest and bare rock of the Canadian Shield. Sitting at about 386 metres above sea level on the Uneven Lake topographic sheet, it is the kind of quiet outback water that draws people for solitude rather than services, and it lives on maps and in bush-plane routes rather than in resort brochures. There is no developed facility, staffed access or published visitor program tied to Paddon Lake itself; it is best understood as one water among thousands in a remote backcountry region where fishing, hunting, paddling and flight-in camps are the way people experience the landscape. What follows is an honest orientation to the lake and the bush country around it.
