Hosere Goho
Hosséré Goho is a 953-metre volcanic peak in the westernmost reaches of the Mandara Mountains, rising from the Sahelian plains of Cameroon's North Region in Bénoué department. With a topographic prominence of 266 metres, it stands as one of the more distinct hills in a landscape where the ancient range gradually dissolves into the flat grasslands surrounding Garoua. Though far from the well-known trekking centres of Rhumsiki and Mokolo, Hosséré Goho sits in a region of remarkable geological drama—a western sentinel of the Mandara chain that offers a quieter, more isolated encounter with northern Cameroon's volcanic heritage. The nearby village of Goho, nestled at roughly 525 metres on the mountain's lower slopes, gives visitors a glimpse into the pastoral cultures that have long coexisted with these hills.
