Anse La Blague

Anse La Blague is a secluded, reef-protected stretch of sand on Praslin's eastern peninsula, where the island's coast road gives way to quiet bays facing the tiny offshore siblings Grande Soeur and Petite Soeur. At roughly one kilometre long in two connected coves—Grand Anse La Blague and Petit Anse La Blague—this is not the Seychelles of resort lawns and lifeguard towers. It is raw granite, shifting tides, takamaka shade, and almost total peace. The defining fact about this beach is its tidal rhythm. At low tide, the reef traps shallow, glass-calm water ideal for wading and shore snorkeling. At high tide, the same bay becomes deep with strong currents that make swimming genuinely dangerous. Come with the tide on your side and you have a private lagoon; misjudge it and the ocean reminds you who is in charge.
