Cathédrale de Saint-Paul
Saint Paul Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Paul) is the bishop's church and spiritual heart of the Diocese of Dolisie, set in the Niari department of southern Republic of the Congo. Dedicated to Saint Paul, it serves as the seat of a diocese created only in 2013 by Pope Francis, carved out of the older Diocese of Nkayi—making this one of the country's youngest episcopal sees, yet rooted in a Catholic presence that reaches back to colonial-era chapels of the 1930s. Far from a quiet monument, the cathedral is a living parish and a civic stage. It fills with worshippers on ordinary Sundays and has hosted citywide ecumenical gatherings drawing Catholic, Protestant and other faithful together—evidence of how this one building anchors both the faith and the shared life of Dolisie, long known also by its former name, Loubomo.
