Termas Aguas Calientes
Tucked inside Chile's Parque Nacional Puyehue, Termas Aguas Calientes is a low-key spa resort where the main event is water: geothermal pools fed by a volcanic source, private thermal hot tubs on cabin terraces, and the forested valley of the Río Chanleufu running just outside the door. It works equally well as a half-day soak from Osorno or as a slow, multi-night retreat wrapped around trails and birdsong. The setting is the reason people drive out here. The resort positions itself as a gateway into Puyehue National Park and a UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve, surrounded by endemic flora and fauna, with forest paths threading through the property. After a day of walking, the draw is simple: sink into mineral-rich water at 37–39°C and let the valley quiet you down.
