Hồ Suối Dầu
About 30 km inland from Nha Trang, Suối Dầu (Suoi Dau) is a vast artificial reservoir cupped at the foot of Hòn Bà mountain in Cam Lâm district. Built between 2001 and 2004 to store water for farms and taps across Cam Lâm, Diên Khánh and part of Nha Trang, it has quietly become one of Khánh Hòa's favourite escape-from-the-coast spots: a mirror-calm sheet of green water ringed by primary forest, with a kilometre-long dam crest you can walk or drive right out along. People come here less for attractions than for atmosphere — to stand out on the dam and watch mist drift off the water, spread a mat for a picnic, cast a line, or simply catch a breeze that smells of forest instead of salt. It is wild, unhurried and free of beach-resort bustle, which is exactly why local photographers and weekend riders keep coming back.
