Tucker House Museum
Tucker House Museum is a beautifully preserved 1752 merchant's house on historic Water Street in St. George's, Bermuda — a window into colonial-era island life through its antiques, architecture, and the remarkable people who lived within its walls. Built by a sea captain, expanded by the most powerful man in colonial Bermuda, and later home to a formerly enslaved barber who became the first Black member of the US Congress, Tucker House layers three centuries of Atlantic-world history into one intimate building on a narrow lane in a UNESCO World Heritage town. The museum is currently closed for conservation and restoration of its Grade 1 listed structure, with plans to reimagine its exhibits. Meanwhile, visitors can explore nearby Globe Museum and other heritage sites in St. George's.
