Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park
The Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park is Grand Cayman's crown jewel of nature and conservation — a 65-acre sanctuary in the island's quiet North Side where you can stroll through rainbow-ordered gardens, boardwalks lined with rare orchids, and shaded woodland trails while the island's famous Blue Iguana wanders freely all around you. Opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1994, the park blends carefully curated displays of Caymanian horticulture with genuine conservation work. The National Trust's Blue Iguana Recovery Programme calls this ground home — a species found nowhere else on Earth and once on the very brink of extinction. Today, more than 1,200 have been released back into the wild, many of them spotted casually sunning themselves along the park's paths.
