Sierra de la Boquilla
Sierra de la Boquilla is a mountain peak in the municipality of Janos, in the far northern reaches of Chihuahua, Mexico. The name "sierra" in Mexican usage often refers to a modest range or ridge rather than a dramatic alpine chain, and this is a landscape feature of the semi-arid transitional terrain between the Chihuahuan Desert and the higher ridges that fringe the state's northwest. This is not a tourist destination. There are no trails, viewpoints, facilities, or visitor services associated with it. Its significance is geographic: a named landmark in one of Mexico's least populated regions, where wide-open plains meet low mountain ridges under a vast sky.
