Dagon Museum
The Dagon Museum was a one-of-a-kind archaeological institution in Haifa, Israel, devoted entirely to the story of grain — its cultivation, storage, transport, and symbolic power from the Neolithic revolution to modern industrial silos. Founded by Reuben Hecht and opened in 1955 beside the towering Dagon grain silos at the port, it earned official recognition from the International Council of Museums in 1966. Today the museum is permanently closed, but its remarkable collection lives on at the Hecht Museum at the University of Haifa.
