Chapel Beach
Chapel Beach sits in a sheltered horseshoe bay in the coastal village of Port St Mary, on the southwest corner of the Isle of Man. A breakwater keeps the swell at bay, leaving calm water ideal for swimming, snorkelling, or simply paddling along the sand. Rock pools at either end of the beach harbour anemones, crabs and small fish, making it a favourite for families and marine-life explorers alike. Beyond the water, the beach acts as the gateway to one of the island's most charming harbours. The 'cat-walk' promenade links Chapel Beach to Port St Mary's twin harbours, where fishing boats and yachts come and go year-round. Dolphins and porpoises are frequently spotted from the breakwater, and the Raad ny Foillan coastal path passes right by, inviting walkers toward the dramatic Chasms or the Sound.
