State Museum of San Marino
The State Museum of San Marino is the small republic's answer to a national gallery—a four-floor institution in a restored Renaissance palace that packs almost five thousand objects into a narrative spanning the Neolithic age to the twentieth century. It is the place where the microstate's outsized cultural ambition becomes visible: Ostrogothic gold, Egyptian funerary statuettes, Guercino paintings, and the votive bronzes that predate the founding legend itself.
