AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Imagine stepping into a natural jacuzzi carved into the rocky coastline of Jost Van Dyke. That is the Bubbly Pool, a unique tidal phenomenon where ocean swells crash against a rock wall, churning the enclosed basin into a frothing, bubbling spa. This hidden gem is one of the top attractions in the British Virgin Islands, offering a thrilling and memorable experience for families, boaters, and adventurous travelers. The pool is accessible via a short, easy hike from Foxy's Taboo restaurant, making it a perfect half-day excursion.↗↗↗
The Natural Jacuzzi Experience
The Bubbly Pool sits at the intersection of Caribbean calm and Atlantic energy. When a north swell is active, waves crash against the outer rock wall every 10–15 seconds, sending bursts of aerated water into the pool. The result is a vigorous bubbling effect that feels exactly like a natural jacuzzi. The pool is roughly four feet deep, allowing most adults to stand comfortably while being gently pushed by the churning water. On calm days or at low tide, the pool remains a beautiful, tranquil rock pool with clear water, though the dramatic bubbling effect is absent.
