For a quick bite, Choo Choo’s at St Crispin’s is a short walk from the hotel and offers food with a view of the lake and golf course. In town, The Little Larder on Macrossan Street is a local favorite for breakfast and lunch, while Grant St Kitchen is known for its coral trout pies and prawn salads. For seafood, 2 Fish is a multi-award-winning option, and Hemingway’s Brewery at the marina serves handcrafted beers and fresh local produce. The Mexican on Macrossan Street offers modern Mexican meals, and Salsa Bar and Grill is a local favorite for international dishes. Zinc Port Douglas, near Four Mile Beach, combines a restaurant and cocktail lounge with contemporary Australian cuisine.
The resort sits on St Crispins Ave, a quiet spot about 4 km from Port Douglas' main street, Macrossan Street, and 1 km from Four Mile Beach. You are a 13-minute walk from the Wildlife Habitat, where you can see native animals like koalas and kangaroos. The area is green and relaxed, with a golf course right next door and the Daintree Rainforest a short drive away. Shops, cafés and restaurants are within close driving distance, and the Bally Hooley steam train stops nearby for a scenic ride. St Crispins Station is about 470 metres away, and shuttle buses and Beam scooters make it easy to get into town.
From Cairns Airport, the drive to Pool Resort Port Douglas takes about an hour along the Captain Cook Highway, following signs for Port Douglas. Turn onto Port Douglas Road, then left onto St Crispins Avenue; the resort is 100 metres on the right. You can hire a car, take a shuttle bus, or book a private transfer from the airport. If you prefer public transport, St Crispins Station is about 470 metres from the hotel, offering a local connection. A scheduled coach also runs between Cairns and Port Douglas, with stops along the coast.
For a relaxed evening, start with a drink at Hemingway’s Brewery at the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina, about 4.5 km away, or try Watergate Restaurant and Lounge Bar on Macrossan Street for cocktails. The main street, Macrossan Street, is roughly 4 km from the hotel, so a short shuttle ride or scooter trip gets you there. You could also enjoy a sunset view at Hi Tide Cafe Bar Restaurant on the Esplanade, overlooking Four Mile Beach. If you prefer staying close, the hotel’s own bar offers a convenient spot to unwind. The Bally Hooley train stops near Choo Choo’s café, adding a nostalgic touch to an evening outing.
Pool Resort Port Douglas is a great base for exploring the area. Wildlife Habitat is just a 13-minute walk away, so you can easily start your day with the local wildlife. For the beach and reef activities, 4 Mile Beach Lookout, Wavelength Reef Cruises, and ABC Reef Safaris are all within a short drive of about 3.6 to 3.8 km. The Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre and Mossman Gorge are further out, around 13 to 14 km, so you will need a car or a tour for those. Popular reef and rainforest tours, like the Quicksilver snorkel cruise and the Daintree day trip, are easy to join from here. With a car, you can comfortably reach the main sights and day trips.
