For a meal close by, Speights Ale House Queenstown is about a 5-minute walk away, and Fergburger is roughly 7 minutes on foot. You can also try The Exchange, Rata, Fat Badgers Pizza Bar Queenstown, Paddy Gaddy, Bean Around the World, or Bungalow, all within a short stroll. Hulbert House sits on Ballarat Street, a short walk from Queenstown's centre, with Lake Wakatipu and Skyline Hill nearby. The immediate area is residential and quiet, yet you can stroll to the lakefront, Queenstown Gardens, and Kiwi Park Queenstown within about 8 to 11 minutes. Several local eateries, including Speights Ale House and Fergburger, are within a few minutes' walk. The Skyline Gondola and luge base is also close, making the neighbourhood convenient for both sightseeing and everyday needs.
From Queenstown Airport, the lodge is about 7.3 km away, roughly a 12-minute drive. A taxi or ride-hailing service will take you directly to 68 Ballarat Street. If you prefer a pre-booked transfer, that is also a straightforward option. The nearest bus stop, Stanley Street Hub A, is about a 2-minute walk from the hotel, which can connect you from the airport or town. For train travelers, Queenstown does not have a main train station, so the airport is the primary arrival point.

Yes, Hulbert House is a great base for exploring Queenstown. You can walk to many top sights in minutes: Ziptrek Ecotours, Skytrek Tandem Hang Gliding & Paragliding, and the Queenstown Hill Walking Track are all a 4-minute walk away.
