An absolute fairy-tale experience - we felt utterly spoiled from the moment we arrived. We chose Schloss Mönchstein to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary trip, and it was the best decision we could have made. To our absolute delight, the staff surprised us with a room upgrade to the most immaculate suite. The space was stunning, pristine, and offered breathtaking views of Salzburg directly below. World class service The level of hospitality here is unmatched. The staff is warm, and ready to assist with absolutely anything you need. They truly go above and beyond for their guests: * Thoughtful accommodations - One morning, we had a very early departure to drive to Filzmoos for the Almabtrieb. The staff was kind enough to pack us a wonderful breakfast to go, which we enjoyed during our morning hike in the Alps. * Daily in-room treats - We thoroughly enjoyed the daily basket of fresh fruit, mineral water, and delicious house made bundt cake waiting for us in our suite. The Property The grounds of the castle are exceptionally beautiful and serene. Walking through the manicured property felt like stepping into a private oasis high above the city, perfectly blending historic grandeur with modern luxury. Thank you to the entire team at Schloss Mönchstein for making our milestone anniversary unforgettable. If you want to feel truly pampered in a magical setting, this is the place to stay.

Hotel Schloss Mönchstein exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely immersed in luxury. We reserved two rooms, and the staff took the time to help us choose the perfect accommodations for our family. Every detail met our needs perfectly, making our stay effortless from the very beginning. Both rooms were stunning, with breathtaking views overlooking the fortress and the city of Salzburg. Very walkable to town through a lovely park. They will provide you with elevator passes to get off the mount. The rooms were lovely. The service was five star. The pool overlooking the city was a delight during the heat dome.

In all of our travels around the world, this hotel is far and away among the best. Ranks right up there with the Waldorf in New York, and the Shila in Seoul. The staff are on point, professional, kind and courteous. We felt welcomed from the moment we entered, greeted with a glass of champagne. We stayed in one of the upper rooms in the tower, worth every dollar. Great views of the city! Also, the hotel is quiet and somewhat secluded from the bustle of downtown Salzberg. We can not wait to go back!

Staying at Hotel Schloss Monchstein was an absolute dream for my partner and me. Perched high above the Salzburg tourist hustle and bustle, it provided the most peaceful retreat with magical views over the entire city. The rooms are breathtaking, luxurious, and definitly not run-of-the-mill, offering supreme comfort and style. Dining at their on-site restaurant was another major highlight; the dishes were exceptional, making it easily one of the finest culinary experiences in Austria. The staff provided attentive, warm service from the moment we checked in. It is clear that the management takes massive pride in the property, improving and renovating it every year to an extremely perfect standard. We had the best sleep quality here and truly cannot wait to visit this castle gem again soon!

Salzburg is a ok town. Until you show up to the Schloss. What do they have? Great pool. Grab a couple aperol spritzes and go for an underwater breathing competition. Great breakfast. Skip the serve it yourself buffet and Order an omelette and some crepes. Great town. Take the elevator and walk to La Stella. Order the bolognese, the feta cheese pizza, and the tiramisu. Drink wine and take the long way back. Draw a bath, walk around in the robe, and fall asleep reading. Salzburg is now your favorite town.

Amazing service down to the smallest detail. I absolutely loved my stay at Schloss Mönchstein. I traveled solo with my young daughter, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Every interaction was warm, professional, and thoughtful. The food was exceptional, and the wine selection was superb. The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and impeccably maintained. It’s rare to find a hotel that combines luxury with such genuine hospitality. I couldn’t have been happier with our stay and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.
