Every detail of this hotel is perfection. The rooms are elegantly decorated and comfortable. The outdoor patio and indoor lounge seating is filled with charm. The food at breakfast (do not miss the almond cake!) is remarkable. Even the flavor infused water in the lobby is the extra detail that shows how much they care about the overall guest experience. The staff could not have been more warm and welcoming. Lastly, the location is very convenient for visiting the cathedral, Michelin star restaurants, and walking around the old town.

My wife and I have been coming here for years, and we just spent a month there visiting family and hosting our 25th wedding anniversary. The Palacio is a wonderful hotel, with a good location in a quiet spot a few minutes from the Cathedral. The rooms are comfortable, the service by the management and staff is excellent, and the newly re-designed bar and restaurant create an interior and exterior (with the garden and patio) space that you want to spend time in. Our guests (about 25 stayed here) consistently sang their praises for the hotel and the staff, saying they felt like family. If you want to have a party or event, give the Palacio a very close look. They were very easy to work with and accommodated every request. They showed high flexibility in terms of spaces needed for the cocktail and lunch/dance, including allowing us to decide at the last minute if the cocktail would be outdoors or in-the weather ultimately cooperated. The food was excellent—our difficulty was in making the menu choices from the extensive selection offered, and it all came out fresh and at the right temperature-no mean feat for catering 7 tables. All in all, excellent value and service beyond our hopes! Thanks to everyone at the Palacio for making our anniversary unforgettable!

On arrival we were upgraded from a Superior room to a Suite. The Reception staff on arrival were most helpful and answered all our questions to our complete satisfaction. The Hotel is ideally situated and within easy walking distance of the cathedral, the surroundings are very quiet and peaceful. The hotel is clean and bright despite it being the middle of winter. The hotel has a lot of Character and at the same time being modern. The food was exceptional and are individual requests were met completely. The garden area would be lovely to sit in during warmer months. Would have no hesitation in returning again

If you want to see the splendour of Santiago de Compostela and enjoy tremendous service come to this hotel in mid to late March (avoid an early Easter of course) as we did. The hotel was quiet, the restaurant empty and a staff who had time to assist us. Our room on Floor 2 wing (201 to 226) was clean relatively modern with an older style decor that suited the history of the place. A 10 minute walk to the Cathedral which on the even floors faced out towards it was easy and slightly uphill. For Marriott Bonvoy members it is worth it with a decent breakfast set up and great dinners. The prices may seem high but no higher than at nearby restaurants of that excellent calibre. Wonderful gardens to escape into for some solitude although at that time of year it wasn't groomed yet. A small fitness area and a pool will be sufficient for those who desire that but not for the die hards. All in all worth it.

We stayed at this Marriott at the end of our Camino. It didn't disappoint! We rented a car and the parking garage was spacious (great for Spain). The room was really comfortable and also spacious. One of the greatest discoveries was the food. It was out of this world. As an American looking for great salads in Spain, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel location is just a short walk to the city center, and it's really worth it compared to other hotels we stayed in along the Camino.

Our stay at the Hotel Palacio del Carmen – Autograph Collection was great. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how lovely the hotel is—beautifully maintained, very clean, and staffed by an exceptionally friendly team. The location is fantastic. The hotel is centrally located and within easy walking distance of the beautiful Parque da Alameda, making it easy to explore the city while still enjoying a peaceful atmosphere. One of the most special parts of our stay was waking up each morning to the sound of birds singing. The natural surroundings around the hotel are simply lovely. There is a charming walking path along the small creek next to the property, which makes for a peaceful stroll and a perfect way to start or end the day. The lush greenery and tranquil setting really highlight the beauty of the Galician landscape. Overall, it was a fantastic stay—comfortable, relaxing, and beautifully connected to nature while still being close to everything Santiago has to offer. We would happily stay here again

Excellent hotel. Some of the best service I have had. Lucia was so helpful at the front desk. Helped with taxis and breakfast reservations. Emilio too had some great recommendations for restaurants and sites. Breakfast buffet was out of this world good. The staff in the restaurant were also incredibly accommodating and attentive. A+++++ to everyone at El Palacio del Carmen. Gracias 🙏

This hotel was converted from an old monastery I believe. The rooms are a bit old which is expected and there’s no blackout curtain. However the staff are very nice and helpful, especially the lady at the reception. There’s free parking underground. The breakfast was okay. Some of the items were either overcooked (sausages) or been sitting there for a while (jamón). However you can order your own omelette or other types of eggs (such as sunny side up) if you want. There’s a swimming pool which is mildly heated. I wish there was a glass wall or bigger glass roof that can let the sun shine in. That would make it better. There’s also a small gym. It’s right next to the old town which is very convenient.
